On the one hand, I'm a little surprised since G4 axed anime from its schedule years ago. On the other hand, given what it is, G4 probably doesn't view this in the same light. It probably shows why co-productions are so appealing. Stick a big name on it, and a network that wanted nothing to do with anime is all over it.

Wow, wasn't expecting this. However, this is good for G4. This could be their Afro Samurai for them. And it's bigger than that because its based off Marvel properties.
I like some shows off of G4, like Attack of the Show. They just need more programming to fill it out. This is a step in the right direction.

I have a feeling the X-Men and the Blade thing while blow, but I have high, high hopes for Wolverine and Iron Man. This is probably the last shot at getting anime back into the mainstream, at least on the Animatrix level.

Well, now I guess I have a reason to watch G4 again...so, uh, mission accomplished for them, I suppose!
...er, they don't do fifteen commercial breaks per half hour anymore, do they?

G4 slipped so much for me. I used to watch that channel all the time since it was essentially all about video games along with a late night anime block. Then they canceled anime on the channel and started ditching the shows about games for things like Cops and Cheaters. Honestly, Attack of the Show and X-Play are all that is watchable on that network, and even those I barely watch considering how they used to be funny and now, not so much. I really hope this works out for them so they can take a look at the ratings and perhaps consider adding some decent programming.

Attack of the Show lost its charm years ago. Olivia Munn is nowhere near as cute as she believes herself to be, Kevin's Michael Cera routine is unfunny, and that dude from the Web Soup is trying too hard to be of the "chan" mentality. G4TV is not Spike and it will never be and it should really stop trying to be.
I thought G4 only ran anime in Canada. I never knew it hit the U.S.

The biggest trick for me in regards to X-Men will be if they can figure out how to balance all the characters so we can see several and make them worthwhile. If they're smart, they'll back off on Wolverine since he has his own show and doesn't need to hog the camera on X-Men, and the guy is just so over saturated right now.

Frankly, any anime on television probably is a good thing. Especially marvel anime, could help a struggling industry out.
I liked the Iron Man movies, so an Iron Man might be cool as well. I wonder if Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) will dub Iron man's role?

Yeah, the US had it's own Anime Unleashed block, which they canceled around 4 years ago. TechTV had it and aired several titles like Banner of the Stars, Betterman, Silent Mobius, Soultaker, and Serial Experiments Lain. Then G4 took them over and actually brought in a lot of new stuff from Geneon like R.O.D the TV, Gungrave, and Last Exile. Unfortunately, they later did what Adult Swim would eventually do and took it from a nightly block to once a week. I was hopeful that it was going to continue since they brought in new shows, but alas, they ended it, probably due to ratings.
I was jealous when I discovered that the Canadian side of the network still aired anime, especially when that included Black Lagoon.

I seriously doubt it. That would increase the production cost quite a bit. Even if they negotiated with him, I doubt if he'd be cheap. Shoot, they didn't even include him in the Iron Man 2 game, even though they used Don Cheadle. Honestly, if his voice acting performance in the first Iron Man movie game is any indication, I don't think he'd be a good choice. It was just so flat, and emotionless (especially compared to his on-screen performance) that I thought it was just some sound alike.

Well they switched from being a video game network when the ratings were going down and viewers rather they got their information off the internet. So, they decided to shift the network to a more Spike TV-ish network, only more aimed at geeks.
I mean, acquiring these shows are a step in the right direction for them. They just need more shows.

^ Aimed at geeks bro? I don't see nerds going crazy over Cops and Cheaters.
Holy crap, that sounds like stuff I would actually want to watch. Sad to know I never got to see that. Most of those anime sounds like stuff genuine nerds would want to watch. Something that G4 completely lost around 2008.
Black Lagoon ran on Starz, and at the time I didn't even think it was anime.

Yeah, for a time, it seemed like there was almost too much on since I'd stay up late and end up having to choose between anime on Adult Swim and anime on G4. They managed to run the block 7 nights a week and still kept it fresh by keeping the weekends and weekdays separate and rotating shows so when one finished, they'd swap out for another. Even with reruns, it took a while before a show got old.

Yeah, I'd say it missed the geeks it claims to aim for. In fact, it's the geeks who constantly complained when the video game shows got axed. G4 used to run a thing on their site where you could ask their president questions and he'd select some to answer. Just about every month, there would be a question along the lines of "Why'd you get rid of Anime Unleashed?" or "What about just airing some anime movies so you don't have to get a whole series?" or "Why'd you get rid of stuff about games so you can air Cops?" Every time, his response was, "we'll look into it, but the ratings weren't good as good as Cops (or whatever)" Several of these also made the Spike comparison, and he tried to claim that they were different. Honestly, I used to adore X-Play because it could cover game news, and do reviews and be hilarious to boot. Then they switched to just being straight-faced. The skits were canned, the snide remarks, everything. They actually became the same as every other game news site on the internet where you just get a snippet of info an nothing more. The novelty was ruined.

So did you get to watch it at another time? I hope so because I know I'd be pissed if I missed out because I didn't know what it was.

Considering he's having money problems, I wonder if Snipes will take on Blade again in the dub.

Colour me intrigued. And it's about time Blade got something, other than those movies, as long as it stays out of Dracula: Sovereign of the Damned territory.
I don't know if I'll care much for the X-Men show, not a big fan.

Not until I got the DVDs. I was dropped in the middle of the Nazi submarine arc. I was scared but intrigued all at the same time.
