Is anyone else feeling Toradora here. I mean I know they aren't the same at all since Tiga is anything buy shy. However, I couldn'thelp but remember Toradora when I saw the picture they have on the article.

Sounds amusing, plus it reminds me of the fairly big height difference between my girlfriend and me. xD Not so drastic, of course, but y'know.

Exactly, except Toradora is about 100 times better than this series. What would make this series more interesting is if the main female character secretly was a ninja that was originally a man. And the main character was actually a woman before in a different time line. Odd idea, but this type of formula of height problems has been done at least 10 different times. |

How about the fact that this is REALLY jumping a license here?
"The manga has been running in Ribon since 2009, and the first compiled book volume shipped in March." So it's been running for maybe a year? They didn't license a manga, they licensed the vague concept of a manga that has barely gotten started. By the end of a first volume of some romcoms the characters barely know each other names. Might as well produce a wholly original story rather than something a year old. |

I think "event anime" refers to that of a special or an OVA. I don't think this is about a future TV series.

I think this concept is popular because tall people really stick out in Japan. I'm 5'8, borderlining on 5'9 and I was treated like a scary amazon during my stay there (some of the reactions were pretty funny though). I'm average height here in the states, but most Japanese women are under 5'4 apparently... |

Ok, I used a online converter and she just shy of 4 feet 6 inches, and he's 6 foot 2 inches, so this story is going for extremes even by Japanese standards .

I know this is a shoujo manga but it seems like something that would appeal to hardcore otakus. Maybe for that reason this manga has been picked for an anime adaptation.

The height isn't the deal in the manga, it's the personalities. They are very similar to the leads in Kimi ni Todoke: shy girl and popular guy. The manga is pretty good, and the trailer looks good to me, too, starring Taketatsu Ayana and Suzumura Kenichi. Ayanyan does at least as good a job as Noto did in KnT, in my opinion, based on the short trailer.
The director was assistant director on KnT, the animation production is by Production I.G., and the OVA (of whatever length) will be included with the November issue of Ribon, which comes out October 2. The comment about it appealing to otakus as well as normal shoujo fans seems dead on to me. |

I can believe that, considering Otakus this day and age want anything that looks "cute". |
