Sounds just about as successful as my last kitten punting party.

The Skull Man was one of my favorite shows of this year. Such a uniquely unconventional way of telling it's story. Action, mystery, horror... Show had it all in spades.

"Moe pastoral..." I'm going to start teaching that in my lit classes. What would be even more fun? "Moe pastourelle" - a late medieval troubadour ballad where a knight fails to seduce a moe girl with his witty repartee. (In either French, Italian, or a really bad French or Italian accent, naturally.)
More on topic, I had been staying away from "The Skull Man" because, well, the box didn't sound or look appealing. But now I may give it a go - especially since he's not some kind of spandex-wearing anti-superhero. |

or maybe a little ditty called "Two Knights and Maidens" from Crash Test Dummies... those would be evil moe maidens... "they're cute but they'll feed you to the tigers..." |

Azumanga Daioh's spelled wrong. Not flame-bait material, but just sayin'. Of course, I do have a lighter and I'm rather anxious.
You know, having read the opinion on Hidamari Sketch, I recall absolutely nothing of this series other than the fanciful art they used in the background. Nothing. No story. No characters. Damn, that must have been one hell of a dull series for me to forget it. Again, another set of nice shelves (and figures to knock over trying to grab a title). Maybe I'll submit my picture. Oh, and finally... not sure how you come up with the column titles every week, but I would have died laughing if it were "The Skull Man Sketcheth". See you next time and have a great trip! please bring me back a souvenir |

It is not beyond conception. There exists themed confectionery for such occasions. |

I cannot see how in the world you came to the conclusion that Miyako is "the stupid one": Her character is defined as someone who does well on tests and is an excellent artist. She leads an incredibly simple life, and is very straight-forward, cheerful, always hungry and she never has any money.
If that's what defines a stupid person, then I obviously must be stupid, since all tose traits - except the artist bit - apply to me. |

I was a tad disappointed in Skull Man, but overall it was very good (I just expected more). They made this one connected to Cyborg 009 down to using VA's from the last anime of that title in this show, but I vaguely recall the original manga was something like a 1-shot or a premise for a show so it's a vague title anyway. It might be a prior version of Cyborg 009.

I followed through and read your "After My Bedtime" blogs. I have to ask, though: your describe Mouryou no Hako as "overrated," but did anyone ever actually finish that in fansubs? Maybe I was just hanging around the wrong sites, but far from overrated it was simply overlooked by most subbers. I was interested in it, but could only find the first few episodes.
