I'm glad to see Skim get some more recognition. It's a lovely book that came to my attention when it was up for the Governor General's Award here in Canada (or at least I'm pretty sure it was the GG).

I am thinking that the award gets its name from the 1930s comic Little Lulu. I think it is good they have an award recognizing the talents of female comic artists. CLAMP and Takaya have established a modest fan base because of how they write their stories.

Ahh, I've heard of that! Actually, its on my wishlist now. the art looks great.

Although it's nice that Takaya got nominated, I don't really think she deserves to win. To me, Fruits Baskt wasn't anything special.

CLAMP may have more of a chance considering both they and Rumiko Takahashi have both sold over 100,000,000 tankoubon globally.

Wow. How does one compare with ClLAMP? Personally, I rather want Gail Simone to win. Her books are amazing. I've been following her since she was writing fan columns at a website. Yet I know CLAMP is a powerhouse with a huge catalog. I have a couple of their books too. I adore Clover. Plus the other nominee Fruits Basket is pretty amazing too.
