manga about four girls who try to rescue their high school's light music club, even though they are all novices who cannot play instruments or read music.

just like to point out thats wrong. In both the manga and the anime, yui is the only one who cant play her instrument in the beginning.

None of them are particularly good to start with, but the other 3 can all play.

Mmmm, and it is that ED sequence that pretty much sky-rocketed Mio's popularity which leaves the others...well....kind of there. Cool

I love the ending song but I wonder why they would have it focusing on Mio more. I had thought the show would really center around Yui instead. Mio didn't want to play the guitar because she didn't want to be the frontrunner of the band and because she is shy. I thought that was why she was playing bass. I know most people like Mio but my favorites are Yui and Mugi! Very Happy

I think it has something to do with the School Festival spoiler[because in the manga, Mio was forced to sing at the School Festival because Yui kept forgetting how to sing and play the guitar at the same time.]

I liked the OP more than the ED myself. "Lazy" just didn't feel like something a freshmen light music club would sing, and some of the lyrics would possibly get an American HS band in trouble (or at least would have when I was in HS in the 90s Wink ). I don't know, just doesn't really fit my image of the characters as well as the OP does.

But don't get me wrong, they're both good songs.

That's definitely KyoAni style right there. I'm going to have to check this series out since friends of mine have been saying that these theme songs are some of the best that they've heard so far. I guess it can't be too bad if they're placing on Oricon.

Same here. I just like the more upbeat feel of Cagayake! Girls.
I got that song stuck in the my head for a while, so I'm not too surprised to see it ranked high.

But, "Laccy"? No, no, no! Razz

that's kinda sad, both songs are pretty plain..the ending sounding like Mio tries hard...and doesn't even make sense since her character is supposed to not want to be the focus of the crowd hence her choice in bass instead of guitar...

I'm enjoying the series thus far, and the OP and ED are catchy enough to having me humming them throughout the day. Don't Say "Lazy" is so...different from the OP,which I like a bit better, but I love them both Very Happy
