posted on by Egan Loo
The Oricon media survey group has announced on Tuesday that "Don't say 'lazy,'" the ending theme song for the K-ON! anime series, sold about 67,000 CD singles to rank at #2 in its debut week on Oricon's latest weekly singles chart. The anime's "Cagayake! Girls" opening theme song sold about 62,000 copies to place #4. This spring, the Kyoto Animation studio (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Lucky Star) is adapting kakifly's manga about four girls who try to rescue their high school's light music club, even though they are all novices who cannot play instruments well.
Yōko Hikasa plays the bassist Mio Akiyama in the Sakura High School Light Music Club (Sakurakou K-ON bu), and she also sings main vocals on the ending theme. Aki Toyosaki plays the lead guitarist Yui Hirasawa and performs as the main vocalist on the opening theme.
