Like the second season of Full Metal Alchemist, I'll be more interested when and if this get's licensed. Eureka Seven is one of the very few Mecha shows I actually really enjoyed.

So, is this going to be an original movie, or like the RanXephon one that condensed the series/Evangelion series remake films?

O.O

bootlegs.... now.

hmm.. It will probably recap parts from the series but I think more then anything it will be an original storyline. Hopefully rather then the TV condensed or recaps it will really be more of a "What if Eureka Seven was a movie rather then a TV series" then "this is Eureka Seven: The Movie" or "Eureka Seven that just happened to be done in Movie format and on a movie budget". Kind of like X or Esclaflowne the Movie as oppose to the first EVA movies or DBZ and naruto movies.

According to those who've read it, this looks like an adaptation of the original anime's manga spinoff.

Meh. I wasn't a big fan of the show. I tried watching it when it aired on Ytv in Canada but like most mecha sci-fi shows, I found it to be rather flat and boring (also, the main male character was annoying to me)... but it has some fanbase and I do hope that for the fans sake, it won't be a bad adaptation.

Wow, it looks amazing! I loved watching Eureka Seven, and I can't wait to see if this movie will be licensed in the states.

Hmm... I read all the manga and I don't see too many similarities as of yet between the two asides maybe the first scene was when Renton is trying to rescue Eureka from the army ship. But that scene played out much differently from what the trailer depicted. Of course I only read the manga cause I use to work at a Waldenbooks and they let me read all the manga I wanted in between customers so my memory might be a bit fuzzy about the manga. Ahhh, good times good times.

Actually I just checked Wiki and it seems very different from the manga. Leaning more towards my "What if it was a movie instead of a TV series."

And wah... Electrastar. That's some pretty short sighted observations on the fanbase and the shows popularity and success. Oh yeah, it only has some fan bases. It only won multiple awards at the 2006 Tokyo International Anime Fair, including Best Television Series, Best Screenplay for Dai Satō, and Best Character Designs for Ken'ichi Yoshida and in the US best DVD series for 2006 plus many others.

Fandom aside its still a critically acclaimed series. Although it doesn't present anything profoundly outside of the box in terms of Mecha type series, and when you break it down its thematically similar to every other mecha series about a young boy. But its style and execution was above all else. What EVA did for different, unique and undone; E7 did for execution and how it should be done. The music seemed perfect for the series, the character design fresh and stylish. How the story unfolded and how everything played out was what set it apart from all else.

The dubs where decent but for this series the subs are highly recommended.

I think it is either what you said, a continuation, or a alternate story. I didn't see a ton of Similarities to the manga, but since i don't understand Japanese, I can't be sure.

Really more like the Escaflowne movie, where they reimagine the story of the series with similar elements used slightly differently.

I wasn't a huge fan of Eureka Seven, myself, but if this takes out the lagging pace of the series, maybe it'll be even better.

Please bring this movie to the theater in the United States.

It doesn't look anything like the manga. I agree with the "what if the anime were a movie" idea.

I'm pretty certain Bandai will license it this year. We might even get a limited theater run in the US similar to The Sword Of The Stranger.
