Looks like classics will get a remake remake.
I thought they did a remake already. Considering how the 'Casshern Sin' looks I guess they'll make sure it's nice and gritty. Just the way it's supposed to be. Vintage makes a comeback. Whoo hoo!!! |

Is this a new anime or this takes the place of Z-Mazinger?
Anyway more Mazinger Z anime is always good news. |

It would be very hard for me to listen to Kouji not being voiced by his type-casted seiyuu: Hiroya Ishimaru, but since this isn't a semi-sequel/remake like Mazinkaizer then i am ok with the seiyuu changes.

I'm looking forward to more interesting shows as what I'm seeing for Spring 2009 is just a whole lot of slice-of-life and slow paced shows. Sure some may be good, but when that's all there is, you feel a little disappointed. I think besides things, all I'm really looking forward to are Cobra, Valkyria Chronicles and more Hayate.

Mike Toole's version of the Tranzor Z OP, everyone sing it with me!
#His name is Tranzor Z. And he is realy, realy powerful! No, Seriously, he's wicked powerful! He can shoot his godamn fist!# But serisouly, DB Kai, Mazinger Z, all we need is GaoGaiGar Project Z to get released and we might have a year of Badass so badass that it might destroy the Moe hordes forever. Uguu on that one, moeblob. |

For some reason I been waiting for an something like this ever since Getter Robo Armageddon. A Giant Robo-style remake of Mazinger Z... Thats makes me so happy!!!!
I hope it has the same type of Giant Robo style epic. Speak of which... when does a sequel of GR:TDTESS is coming? (I'm not waiting for a anwser to that one) |

Giant Robo is the greatest anime ever made... G Gundam is the most entertaining Gundam ever made (not the best, just the most fun).... However, everything else Imagawa has directed has been, well, not so much. 7 of 7? Ugh.... Tetsujin TV... Enormous potential, but fell flat fast. I am very wary of this Mazinger remake. Please let it be fun! If it is a runaway hit then they might just give Imagawa the moneys for a prequel or a sequel to his GR!!!!! I can always dream |

ADV would take a shot at it, if they weren't on life support now, they did inquire if they could release Mazinger Z TV a few years back, apparently 3B productions (the guys that made Tranzor Z and StarBirds) still had the rights. Mazinger Z is The ORIGINAL Super Robot, it might have pulled decent #s if released, I know it would sell better than most of the MOE stuff being released in R1, it does have a bit of nostalgia pull because of Tranzor Z. |
