I've never read the manga or anything, but this show looks like it might be pretty decent. I'll definitely give it a shot when it comes out.

One of those definitely has to be seen to know if it's good. Previous discussion when this was announced centered around the lack of training of girls who pick up instruments and (I assume successfully) rescue a school music club. We'll see... The animation quality looks good in the preview, though the character designs are nothing unique, and we might expect a decent soundtrack.

Eh, it looks OK, but...I don't know how EPIC EPIC EPIC this would be. It sounds like a very simple and somewhat cute story, but I don't know that I'd be tripping over myself to watch it. No offense, but you tend to overrate Kyoto Ani.

Definitely doesn't look "epic," but I was interested in checking this out when it was first announced anyway. It being a KyoAni series is just an added bonus.

I don't see any EPICness in KyoAni's works as well.
This will most likely be just some ordinary slice of life stuff that people probably won't remember in a year.

If that's the case, then you must have not seen The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya or either of the second two Full Metal Panic series.

Everything else KyoAni though ... yeah ... not epic at all. Good animation normally, but certainly nothing epic.

I seriously think "epic" is the wrong word of choice here. Just because it's more or less become a meme doesn't mean you should use it out of it's proper sense. A better way of putting it would be that KyoAni spends a lot of time doing one project at a time, so they can focus all their talent on one thing.

If you're talking Harlock or Legend of the Galactic Heroes, yeah, then go ahead and use epic all you want, that word doesn't even come closer to covering it.

Haruhi isn't epic either, just "el oh el so random ecks dee" and a big old serving of overhyped. It's probably the hype and overratedness that will keep Haruhi popular. Other than that it's just a well animated but wonky school hijinks anime with a supernatural side.

I've seen them. Suzumiya was a nice school comedy with science-fiction elements and Full Metal Panic was just some generic mecha show.
And their other shows are written on soap opera level. Honestly, fluidly animated girls' hair is not enough to justify the recognition the studio receives.

Well I have basically no idea what the show is about, but I'll keep an ear out for it and see what happens.

This is what I'm most looking forward to this season, behind Higurashi's OVA.

I anticipate catchy rock music which will hopefully build up to an epic rock concert! Surprised

Or if not, the show might throw in musical rock references for LULZ. I think I saw a preview of the manga where one of the girls were talking about Detroit Metal City.

The members of Dethklok don't know how to read music neither. Wink

I can't wait to see this. I hope it has really good music, cause it's my main reason for wanting to see the show. I haven't seen any musical anime for a long time Anime cry

Even real musicians like Hendrix did not require knowing how to read music to make history. But play the instrument, he could Wink
