Huh.. I've seen Honey and Clover's covers before, and they look nothing like Berserk.

Berserk is awesome though, so I'm happy about this but the English releases still need to get caught up.

Certainly something I would not have expected, but I'm glad that Berserk will be up and running again.

I wonder which cover we'll be getting whenever it gets released here. It's not that weird, considering Berserk comes off more shojo-ey in the second half of the series.

Berserk as shoujo-ey... wow, that's something I never thought I would hear, ever. I can't think of a less shoujo-ey series, even in the second half where Miura's mellowed out a little and doesn't have slaughter and rape all the time.

Umino-sensei's a huge manga fan, though she clearly said she doesn't consider herself "otaku" Very Happy

Don't worry, I highly doubt it'll look anything like Honey & Clover (and don't get me wrong, I love H&C)

vash: Well, the reason I consider it more shojo-ey ATM is there's more of a focus on female characters in the second half than the first half of the series. Before that, it was like the Smurfs. Laughing

I missed the news about Berserk going on an hiatus. So I was really surprised when I was planning on catching up with the manga a month back and my search showed that there hasn't been any since June. But this is Miura we're talking about, I didn't expect more than three or four chapters to be out anyway. But even I was surprised.

But I'm glad it's back and I don't mind Umino or Rumiko or CLAMP or whoever doing the cover art. As long as I see some good chapters coming out and maybe Miura going back to the good old biweekly chapters.

Wow. I wonder how the whole deal happened. Did Umino draw a picture that Miura liked, who was approached by who, how much did editors, etc. have to do with it...Interesting news. Can't wait to see the cover.

LOL, nice analogy!

But being shoujo is about more than having lots of girl characters. Not that this is a shounen series either, it's seinen. Oh, and it kicks ass and I'm glad the wait will be over on the 24th.

Honey and Clover.

Beserk.

These should not be mentioned in the same paragraph.

cenorig: Don't worry. It's always on "hiatus" nowadays. But less so than HXH.

vash: I know there's more to shojo than the chick factor. There's also emphasis placed on bonds between girls and the male characters not being the focus of each arc, for example.

Sort of an odd choice but I'm glad to hear that it's back from hiatus.

GATSU:

When you say second half, what are you referring to? Post eclipse? I guess I can see what you mean. I don't know that it can accurately be called shoujo in any significant way, but yeah, relative to the first half there have been more shoujo-like elements.
