I take it this studio will be the main studio to produce and create upcoming & future main KOF games (& I assume future Fatal Fury titles), am I correct?

Well, earlier this year some of the satff at SNK mentioned the company is trying to diversify its output beyond fighting games... and Metal Slug, so it makes sense that they would like to create a separate branch in the company that would develop fighting games. I'm sure some developers at SNK are planning a new King of Fighters and Samurai Shodown, but in regards to Fatal Fury, I think one of City of the Wolves' producers mentioned that that game is going to be the final chapter in the series, though considering how much interest the announcement of the game has garnered and that Terry is still the most popular SNK character, perhaps they will reconsider making more Fatal Fury games in the future if City of the Wolves becomes a hit. Still, it's very difficult for a company to make more than just one fighting game, that's why Capcom only has Street Fighter or that Namco has said nothing about a new Soul Calibur game, I think even SNK has mentioned that a new Art of Fighting game won't be a fighting game this time.

I see, and all of these can be true. Regarding Fatal Fury, if the upcoming title, City of the Wolves does well or better then expected when it comes to sales and review (and because the 2 Street Fighter characters, Chun Li and Ken are going to be DLC characters for this title, this title could get more sales then usual). You said the new upcoming Art of Fighting game won't be a fighting game this time, what will it be? A beat em up like in the style of Final Fight.

Well, I'm looking forward to see what SNK has got in store for their fans.

In fact, it was just on December 30 of last year that I read an article that mentioned that information on a new Art of Fighting game would probably be revealed in 2025, it didn't mentioned which type of game genre it would be, but I've heard rumors that considering that SNK is trying to branch out into other game genres, it would be something like a beat 'em up sandbox in the vein of the Ryū ga Gotoku/Like a Dragon/Yakuza game series. If that's the case, it could be cool to explore a 1970s or 1980s South Town.
If SNK is trying to revive an old traditional beat 'em up, I think they could try to make a new Burning Fight or Mutation Nation, or perhaps revive the cancelled Survivor game, which was the original concept for The King of Fighters '94, a beat 'em up starred by Terry Bogard, Robert García and Ralf Jones.

Well, there was a reason why I deliberately made a joke (or jab) at Art of Fighting becoming a beat-em up genre game that plays like Final Fight. Even though the 1st Art of Fighting was a fighting game, the story looks like it "ripped off" Final Fight's plotline. I mean Yuri Sakazaki, sister of Ryo being kidnapped is very much like Jessica, Cody's girlfriend being kidnapped in Final Fight. Also, it doesn't help that both Cody and Ryo had a close friend to team up to save their loved one, Cody has Guy, and Ryo has Robert Garcia. There are differences though, Mr. Big (the character from Art of Fighting) is not a leader of a gang, while Belger (the main antagonist for Final Fight) is the leader of Mad Gear Gang. Art of Fighting doesn't have a Mike Haggar character like in Final Fight.

But yeah, that's why I made a joke about the future/upcoming Art of Fighting game to be a beat em up that plays like Final Fight, because I compared the story of the 1st Art of Fighting to Final Fight. If Art of Fighting is to go beat em up, is there a way SNK and Capcom can allow Cody, Guy, Mike Haggar, and probably Maki to be in the game the same way Ken and Chun Li are going to appeared in the upcoming Fatal Fury game.

Now you understand why I made that jab/joke at the future Art of Fighting and bringing up Final Fight into this.

SNK once made a KOF spinoff similar to Final Fight but by mixing visual novel elements with tactic roleplaying fights: KOF: Kyo. It was pretty much a retelling of 97 but exploring more the social lives of the leads as the game barely mentioned that Kyo's girlfriend was a descendant of the maiden Kushinadahime who was used as sacrifice for the Orochi demon.

When it comes to Terry, his story ended with Real Bout while Garou and City of the Wolves primarily center on Rock. Art of Fighting had strange treatment with the main character Ryo as only crossovers or certain spinoffs show his transformation into a veteran martial artist called Mr. Karate and Mr. Karate 2. In fact, in Maximum Impact 2, SNK aged him to a 49 year old fighter.
