FINALLY!
I still like this more than 2 & 3 and i really hope someday they add a sequel because that ending to X is such a great way to end the game and lead to sequel.
Also has some really great ost. (am curious if they will change how the maping system works without dedicated gamepad like wii u.

They said it couldn't be done and did it anyway! Go Monolith! I wonder if this had anything to do with that Switch Online beta test. The game is basically a pseudo-MMO like White Knight Chronicles II, with a lot of online features that went down with the Wii U's online service. (Also like Dragon's Dogma with it's quest design and custom character sharing.)

That stinger, though. Spoiling everything and nothing at once. The original was in desperate need of a post-patch DLC story, so I'm glad they seem to be committing. Will it be a Xenoblade 4 hook, or a teaser for Xenoblade X2 on new hardware? So many possibilities. I will probably get lost in this one for a very long time.

I never owned a Wii U, so I never got to play this. Glad I can now (just have to find time to power through the last few chapters of Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition, and find time for XC2, XC3, and my VERY extensive backlog of games).

I'm sure our resident Xenoblade fan boy Jean-Karlo will be happy with this news Very Happy

I can now finally relive the experience of swimming to an objective for 30 minutes because I activated a side quest early and didn’t know how to back out despite not having access to robots yet.

That said, the experience of flying upwards and finding more stuff to explore was really mind blowing to me. I too hope for a sequel.

The scope of this game was astounding. And despite that, it didn't even run poorly on the WiiU.

While it has the weakest story, it does have probably both the best ending and gameplay out of the Xenoblade series. Guess it's time to break out the Xenoblade 2 Pro controller one more time. Hopefully those added story elements include another teaser for XCX2.

Neat; figured Takahashi would get back to this considering how much was left hanging.

Been a long time since I played this game, what I can remember:

Skell/flight system: Amazing, definitely the best part of the game. Flying around in the mechs was fluid and just exhilarating. Just too bad it takes so long in order to unlock the feature in the game.

Battle system: Ok-to-meh, I'm admittedly not a huge fan of the MMO-style battle system, even with refinements with every Xeno game release including Chronicles 3. Biggest issue I had with this particular version of the battle system was how far away you had to run in order to break engagement with an enemy. I still remember getting killed by an enemy despite literally running away to the other side of a large mountain and it still wasn't far enough.

Story: OK, interesting at the start but nothing to really write home about, especially with the massive cliffhanger at the end.

Environment: Great, exploring the world with its lush landscape just felt alive and wonderous, especially when flying in the mechs.

Quests: Terrible. Basically 5 million uselessly boring fetch quests.

There are many different types of quests in the game, and something I feel like the original game did a very poor job of explain is that "basic missions" are randomly-generated fetch quests that are best just ignored unless you already have the items necessary to complete them; but "normal missions" are all pre-made quests, and some of them seem like fetch quests, but almost all of them tie into or are required to unlock long-running quest chains that span the entire game, some of which are the best content in the game, honestly more entertaining than the main story.

They probably won't change that for the re-release, but hopefully the game will get some other QoL improvements. (please let me still jump after getting the flight unit, and let me use characters other than Elma and Lin for story missions)

I find it hard to replay games I already sunk hundreds of hours into just for something like updated visuals considering the amount of other games I have to play. I'll probably end up just watching whatever new content they added. I hope it's an actual conclusion and not just a sequel hook for the next Xenoblade or over reliant on characters from past games just randomly showing up like Xenoblade 3's DLC.
