Sad to hear, but I'm happy Christin had a long productive life! I watched the V&L francimé (the TV series), and it was fun. It feels a bit kid-oriented for most of the run, and then becomes surprisingly serious and insanely well-animated at the very end.

I know ANN is anime, but it just feels sacrilegious to call the creator of the inspiration for so many different science fiction series, the inspiration for a kids French/Japanese anime.

I have a lot of affection for Valerian. Some Colombian relatives had sent me a Spanish translation of the Valerian: Empire of 1000 Worlds book decades ago. It was eye opening.

Christin's career changed the world, his voice is going to be deeply missed.

Dammit, man. This one hurts. Crying or Very sad

Valerian: city of a thousand suns, the movie, has one of the best opening few minutes of about any science fiction film. It kind of went downhill from there, not doing the original source material justice (especially not Laureline).

We’re V&L a partial inspiration for Dirty Pair?

But good voyages to you, M Christin.

I heard this last week on the French morning TV news, thanks again Pierre Christin you wrote one of my first graphic novels and liked its anime adaptation.

Time Jam: Valerian and Laureline turned out much better than the movie Valerian and the City of 1000 Planets(dragged down mostly due to bad casting decisions). I hope to see Time Jam in the original French someday.

Anyway, Valerian et Laureline is one of my all-time favorite comics, I was ecstatic when the hardback collections started coming out. RIP to you, Pierre Cristin, may the place you are now be as wonderful as the many worlds you helped create.
