As a certified enjoyer of the Seiyuu Radio manga, I hope Nick gives the manga a look once he's done with the show. Not only is the art lightyears better, this adaptation's cutting out a lot of clever character beats and nuances about the industry in favor of pure plot functionality. We've already blazed through seven chapters in just two episodes and there's so much good detail that made the original manga shine but was cut for time here. So I highly recommend checking the manga out for anyone who's interested; in my opinion, it's the far superior way to experience this story.

For what it's worth, both the manga and the anime are adaptations of a novel, so it's less "the original is better" and more "the manga is a better adaptation, and probably improved on the source material." |

Okay, so at the end of episode 2, why doesn't Otome still go out and sing? Surely that would have been better than removing her from the song entirely.

If only we had someone like Lee Christmas beat the crap out of that toxic social media influencer that harassed Yuhi.

As much as it is a bit of everybody claps, it still made me happy. I came in hoping that they would be a bit more true to themselves, and am happy they might be able to do that going forward.

Does Watanabe being fascinated with Satō's oppai make this show yuri, considering that they are still working on being able to stand each other?

Translator's note: oppai means breasts.

That "walk home" scene was so bad, the show has been on a slow decline for me and it appears it has finally come to the end of the slide. Everything about it was just too dramatic. I actually somewhat liked the show too, when it was still about voice acting and radio.

The whole wager concept just seemed dumb.
There's no guarantee someone wouldn't come up and talk to them, not as a fan, but just to troll them. Maybe that was Chika's mom's point, but she seemed oddly willing to let everyone voice their opinions anyway via a technicality. But the motivation behind the wager is someone was stalking/doxing Chika, and there's also no guarantee that it would stop even if Chika left the industry. Her identity had already been outed, and short of a name change/transfer, she'd still be known as a former idol actress. The other half of the episode was great though, especially Yumiko getting to roast Yubisaki. |

I like how the mother, whose point with the wager was that among the fans are unhinged weirdoes who can be threatening, then accepted the results after the whole escapade almost devolved into a riot.

Yubisaki made this episode for me. Obviously her being outed as a fangirl in the first half - which may be the highlight of the show so far - was great. But considering how dumb the challenge was to start with - leaving it as a cliffhanger last week was doubly so since there was really only one way it could play out - having Yubisaki come out of nowhere to make the final save was a much needed twist.

I loved Yuhi droning on about mecha show as Yasumi thinks to herself over the loan of the DVDs, paying her no heed.

The show is running out of time to be yuri, unless a second season is planned.

I don't care for yuri and this show I only started for the voice actor part since that was what was interesting. Didn't even know it was a yuri. The relationship thing seems forced and stupid. I'd rather it just stick to them being friendly rivals and focus on the background of Japanese voice acting. That's a way more interesting plot.

I think you hit the nail on the head last week with the 'forced drama' comment. At no point have I believed that Yasumi might actually fail. So when you get scenes like the end last week with Yasumi crying on the bridge in the rain that I assume was supposed to convey a sense of hopelessness, it just feels incomplete. And sure enough, this week's episode starts with the same scene, but extends it all of, what? 10 seconds? to show Yasumi regaining her resolve.
