I'd love to be able to watch Zoids Chaotic Century again. I used to love it on Toonami. I'm surprised something that was once so popular has just been forgotten.

Here's hoping someone here tells me it's available somewhere and I just overlooked it?

Hoping that Discotek picks up:
Gaiking: Legend of Daiku-Maryu
More Brave series other than GaoGaiGar
Toei's Getter Robo anime(G and Go as well)
AM Driver
Any Zoids anime.

I would personally like an original release of Skullman. It's the 3rd immediate thing the creator of Kamen Rider and Cyborg 009 created. It even got a remake/sequel in the 2000s. It's never been officially released. Its a shame, since both 009 and KR have at least had the original manga and at least 1 adaption available.

Yet, at least the TV series had a short-lived streaming run through Amazon Prime a few years back and a long-out-of-print DVD release from the mid-2000s. DYRL hasn't even had that much

DYRL did get two English dubbed VHS releases in the 80s & 90s: The infamously edited Clash of the Bionoids & the generically-titled Macross. Both used the same Hong Kong dub that Toho produced, which has been included in the various re-releases in Japan, so what seems to be holding up DYRL outside of Japan now is seemingly a three-way rights nightmare between Big West (who own the Macross name), Harmony Gold (who have the international rights to the SDF cast), & Toho (who likely still have some international rights from back in the day).

edia Blasters was still licensing series, with the first two seasons of Bakuman. being among them. After that single DVD was released, the subsequent discs were put on hold in February 2012, even though the episodes were done. The following year, with no further Bakuman. releases, Media Blasters officially announced that it lost the license.

John Sirabella admitted in one of his YouTube videos over the past year that Bakuman. was simply a case of it selling so poorly (apparently it was one of MB's worst selling releases of all time) that he just decided to cut his losses right away. I'm sure there are a variety a factors for its poor sales, but that's what John said was the reason.

While we're at it, let's get some of the Rumic World OVAs licensed.

Those were seemingly produced by Shogakukan itself (similar to how Shueisha self-produced stuff like the Bastard!! OVAs), so that could potentially be a problem since Shogakukan has long left the business of producing anime itself. However, Sentai did license the Mushibugyo OVAs, which I believe were a similar situation, so you never know...

The Violinist of Hameln is my pie-in-the-sky license request.

Lynzee knows what's up.

As for my personal anime license holy grails, Sentai actually managed to make one happen a couple of years ago with Hareluya II BØY (still wish it could be given a physical release, though). However, here are three of mine:
Monkey Turn: An anime about kyotei/hydroboat racing that's absolutely outstanding; it's easy to see why the manga tied with Hikaru no Go for the Shogakukan Manga Award back in the day. Viz technically has the master rights to it through the ShoPro USA merger back in the 00s, but has no interest in ever touching it, & it's so obscure that no other company will ever contact Viz precisely to release it.

Shinken Legend Tight Road: A quickly forgotten 1 cour anime by Toei from 1994, long before that became a common thin, made to promote a fighting game that never saw release... and might have been developed by Gust. However, taken as its own thing, it's actually a much better show than you'd think, and is seriously one of the better fighting game-based anime made from that decade.

Ring ni Kakero 1: A four-season anime adaptation of Masami Kurumada's first hit manga (debuting nearly a decade prior to Saint Seiya), which itself is essentially the Rosetta Stone of modern shonen action manga, with even Shueisha advertising it as the "Hot-Blooded Fighting Manga Bible" for its 2014 digital re-release. The anime is a very solid adaptation that (for the most part) simply gets better with each successive season, but has always been given the cold shoulder. This is purely a "Only I really seem to want this licensed" pick, but I guess that's what a true "holy grail" pick is, right?

Mouryou no Hako
Set just after WWII, this is a mystery story involving a missing girl, a serial killer, a religious cult and secret WWII experiments. Based on a novel by Natsuhiko Kyogoku with character designs by CLAMP.
Came out when legal streaming wasn't that prevalent, took over a year to be fansubbed by several different groups who did a few episodes then stopped, so it fell through the gaps for most people.

Would love it to get the attention it deserves as it's a damn good story.

For me it's Cross Game. It was licensed for streaming for a short period of time, but since has disappeared. I love that show, but it's not very popular since it's a sports anime. I'm sad that the odds are I'll never see it again. At least I have the manga.

I'm with you on this. I almost put this down instead of Violinist of Hameln.

Boy, I would love to see one of the funniest anime I've ever seen:

Minami-ke from 2007, I remember watching this online and laughing so hard. I couldn't believe I was laughing at a cartoon made overseas as hard as I was, the comic timing was so on point. The sequels aren't as well made as the first season, but they have their moments.

And there's two fun/cute magical/action series that I'm shocked haven't been picked up:

Dragon Crisis! from 2011, it's got nice action/animation and an adorable dragon girl, you can't go wrong.

Venus to Mamoru from 2006, such a fun romance/school/action series with a great female lead. It also has some great battle/superpower scenes. It's been so long since I've watched this pirated I would love to see it picked up.

I can't think of any that I desperately want brought over or put back in print, but some that I would like to are
Hiwou War Chronicles(I want my BONES collection to have their first TV show)
Bakuen Campus Guardress (Discotek and Production I.G get a new scan from the original negative, because the only versions available are downright ugly)
Animal Crossing(feels like a none brainier)

Edit: Ninku(Looks interesting and a Blu-Ray or at least an official stream would be great)

Clockwork Fighters: Hiwou's War did get a DVD release by Bandai Entertainment in the late 00s, but it was a notoriously poor seller (not helped by production problems making it take forever to fully release). The DVDs used to be insanely cheap, but I don't know if that's still the case today. Since it's the only anime BONES ever produced using film, I would love to see it be given an HD remaster.

Combustible Campus Guardress is, sadly, one of those OVAs that Shueisha produced itself. It was admitted that AnimeNation actually looked into licensing it in the 00s when AN opened up its own anime licensing division, but Shueisha being the primary owner of it is what likely kept them from being able to get it. I do agree that deserves a new release, in general, because that is a very fun OVA.

Seconding more of the older Pretty Cure series! Especially hurts with PreCure Full Bloom releasing right now, without a legal option to watch the original series it's a sequel to.

Though my personal pick would be Masaaki Yuasa's Kemonozume, which I don't believe ever has had an international release. Would love to be able to get more people to watch it, it's definitely uneven but really fun and unique (and you can see a lot of Devilman Crybaby in it).
