Viz, can't you see, Bleach wants to fly free as a bird! Don't cage it in with the magazine!

I actually think that serialization might be a good idea, as the US release is getting closer and closer to catching up to the Japanese releases.
Besides, Bleach deserves more attention anyhoo.
But I hate how they "spoiled" Ichigo's bankai, though it wouldn't have gotten a color release without said action...

No, its not close. If you do the math, it will take at least 4 years to catch up to the Japanese release, unless it finishes before that.

Yeah, I think there is a bunch more series they could find to fill there mag instead of bleach, but I understand why they are doing it as well. Im just happy to see that Slam Dunk got in.

I was talking about the tankoubon releases, at which the American releases were going at, would have taken around a year and a half to two years to catch up.
But it does indeed seem like I misjudged the latest Japanese releases and the speed at which they are released. It'll take a while yet, but it really doesn't seem that long ago when the Arrancar Arc started...

Anyone who didn't already know about Bankai 1 or 2 years ago is not a fan. Same goes for those who read and buy edited manga. I am so glad to say that I own all 28 volumes,All colour but the black,Vibes,Souls, both novels and have volume 29 and Bleach Official Bootleg paid for and coming in a week or two all imported from Sasuga.com. Not to mention I imported everything ever released of Eyeshield 21 besides the 2 novels.

You know, there are people who've only read the VIZ releases because they don't know anything about scans or how to catch up. I'm sure in their Bleach searchings on the net they've come across mention of many many things America has yet to see, but there are also many many people who haven't.
Fact of the matter is, for some people the English releases are all they've got, and saying because they don't import the "Pure, Godly Japanese Versions" is egocentric at best. I hate pointless editing and censoring, as well as the inexplicable dumbing down of their titles VIZ does even in their so-called "Advanced" line, but bashing the English only fans is a bit unfounded, eh?
Besides, not everyone even knows how to import or read Japanese.

I hope that you are kidding, and that your post isn't meant to sound as condescending as it does. You are welcome to your opinions, but they are just that. Coming into the forum and telling people that they are not fans because they can only buy and read what is available is just wrong. Congratulations on your ability to get all 28 uneditied volumes, and your swank 29th volume bootleg. Just because you can import, it does not make you better sorry to say. I don't even read the titles that you are boasting about, but when people come on with an attitude like yours, I cannot stay quiet.

That's when the real fans are shown. No real fan want's a dumbed down hack job and will find other ways to obtain their love. Sasuga.com is where I get my series and pay respect to Kubo Tite and his story in the way he wants it to be.
"Bleach Official Bootleg" is a data book released in Japan today and it's title is written in english.

No offence, but isn't there a rule in which a person cannot create an account in ANN just to promote a website?
I didn't mean to come off as rude, so sorry in advance...
Also I'm more interested in the Naruto manga, and I'm probably biased when I say that the Bleach manga is not as great as the Naruto manga

Er, what? I was talking about the tankoubans, what else would we be talking about? Here is what I said in a thread on this in the manga forum. I did the math and I showed my work:

Uh, no, we really aren't close to catching up at all. I used to think the same thing until I thought it out a bit more. Volume 20 just came out here and 28 came out in Japan this month. If Viz continued a bi-monthly release rate, in one year we would be at 26 and Japan would be at volume 32. In another year, we would be at volume 32, and they would be at volume 36. In another year after that, we would be at 38 and they would be at 40. So in four years, we would be at 44 and they would be at 44. And that's assuming they only got 4 volumes a year, but they seem to alternate between 4 and 5. Bleach manga releases.
So it would take us over 4 years to catch up. Yeah, we're real close to catching up with them.

Good grief, please leave. You are a pest. Everytime you post, you reek of fanboyism. You can't help bashing other people and showing off how you are such a big fan of [insert series here. "True fan" my ass. "True Troll" is what you are.

I'm sorry my friend, but I'd say it's actually quite the opposite. TRUE fans are ones who will love the story and support it's english version and not care what a company does to it unless, of course, you've got a case like with what 4kids did to One Piece, and even then you could still settle for Viz's not half bad version of the manga.
And even in that respect, I'd say Viz does a good enough job with their series anyways. I mean, personally, I haven't seen anything they've done "dumbed down" at all, unless you're talking about some of the edits they've made to some of they're series which, despite the fact that they were maybe a little unnecessary and hard to understand why they did it in the first place, really isn't all that bad. Tite Kubo's or Masashi Kishimoto's or whoever else's storylines were kept perfectly intact, right? And I get the same feeling from this version that I got from the other version, right? So who freaking cares if they made a few stupid little edits?

Man, I really should get to sleep earlier. Yeah, you're right, I had forgotten certain parts of the equation in my calculations, and again, didn't realize how fast releases on both sides of the globe were going.
It just feels so fast because the Arrancar Arc doesn't seem all that old to me for some reason.

First off, I'll go ahead and admit that I'm the kind of person who likes things as is, or were in this case. Why make unnecessary edits if they were unnecessary? Especially if this is the only version that's going to be available in NA?
While their edits generally do not seem to intrude upon the integrity of the storyline, it does eat into the atmosphere at certain key points, coupled with the very action of "The Moral Police." It's kind of insulting at times, especially in their so called "Advanced" line. But that's a personal thing. Tokyopop's excessive inclusions of cursing at times is needless and retarded. What's important is maintaining the atmosphere and integrity of a series as best as possible.
I specifically don't understand their T for Teen (13+) titles being okay with blood and violence, but no language is allowed.
