A Galaxy Next Door is very wholesome, and there's an anime coming out next year. Wonder how many volumes in Japanese are out, since it only has one English volume, and that's not enough for an anime.

So last Manga guide went up to January releases, but this one starts in April? Is it going to skip over February and March releases like Dragon Quest the Adventure of Dai?

The previous guide was for Winter, so it covered November-January. This guide is for Spring and will cover April-June.

Oh, that is too bad. Looking into it I guess Takahashi's MAO manga also missed out on the multi-reviewer feature last year as well. Thanks for the answer.

If it's any consolation, we do have another Takahashi-related manga title that will be included in this guide. Rebecca also reviewed MAO vol 1 last year, too: http://4NN.cx/.175679

Galaxy seems to be most interesting so far, I've read a bit of that story. "Banished" already has an anime, which seems to be superior version when the main draw are the couple of not-newlyweds, not the RPG combat, High School Family was average. I haven't read anything Links, since Given is well-received maybe this one will be fine too.

Any particular reason why a February/March guide didn't happen?

Honestly happy to see that it's in-demand enough that you guys would want more comprehensive guides year round.

Right now Manga Guide is twice a year, so we don't cover every single month. After this one wraps, we'll likely have the next one in the Fall and cover August, September, and October.

+1 for the multi-reviewed manga guide year round! Definitely love reading these reviews to see if there are any hidden pearls in there.

Volume 4 came out in Japan earlier this month.

oh boy it's that time again. Always love the manga reviews.

re high school family - it's certainly an odd beast. I enjoyed it (though I fell behind and have not caught up) but the art is certainly going to be divisive.
Gomez is the ugliest cat ever yet I kinda love him for that. He's so god damn ugly.

A Galaxy Next Door sounds interesting. I didn't end up reading the reviews in case they spoiled the twist, as if I read the manga I'd rather go in fresh... I like Gido Amagakure's art but I remember reading one that had soooooo much text I kinda got too scared to read anything else they did..... I never finished the one with text walls tbh.

As an aside, I find it interesting the reviewers use different names for characters. Like, I guess I can understand when it's the first name or last name, but there's cases where the romanisation of a name is different, and I wonder why that happens? Surely if everyone is reading the same translation, they should be spelling it the same? Or do people just forget how names are spelt/lean towards the anime version of a name's spelling when applicable?
Not a criticism per se, just something I've noticed (it happens in the anime preview guide too).

I can't speak for anyone else, but I struggle with names (and at times other things needing to be spelled) because of my particular learning disabilities. It happens to me in pretty much every language I'm literate in, and while I try to double-check myself, sometimes I just end up even more muddled. But yes, we are all reading the same translations!

You guys reviewed High School Family but you ignored Magu-Chan: God of Destruction, which it has an English translated volumes (on digital) a year ago or so? I would love to hear your opinion on Magu-Chan.
