After a weak start this anime ended up being one of my favorites this season. It’s surprisingly emotional at times and genuinely funny. The characters are likable and have more depth than I expected. The CG is just ok, but I love the art direction.

This is good news, even if I'm the only one following this show. The source material is similarly slow-paced, so there's a lot of important content that didn't come up by the point the first season ends.

I wonder if the "v-tuber" style animation is easier (cheaper) to implement? Keeping the costs down would explain how a slow-burner like this one got a second cour. It was a little jarring at first, but I've gotten used to it (along with the "canvas" texture on all the backgrounds).

Great news. This show was so much sweeter than I expected, and like on Hi Score Girl, Yoshiki Yamakawa and his team at J.C. Staff somehow made cheap cel-shaded CG really sing. I don't know if the manga has an end date set, but I'd love to see this story animated all the way through.

Squeee!! So much left to tell, so I'm very excited for this, and frankly flabbergasted. Also glad to see some other folks have been watching.

I ended up liking this so much more than I had expected to. The cgi gave me a kind of Nightmare Before Christmas vibe somehow. That is to say, it works for this piece where it might not with a different story.

Man, Rob sure spoiler[got himself a lot of cats] there at the end, huh. Very Happy

I'm surprised at this announcement TBH. The decision to use CGI for this series turned off much of its fanbase. I am enjoying the manga, and it does have a very slow pace overall but the payoffs are worth it.

I think this series would have gotten a much more positive reception without the option to go with Janky CGI character designs.

I've really come to love and enjoy the show so the idea that we'll be getting a sequel makes me so happy!

Here's to more Duke and Alice, as well as the rest of the cast!

That's nice, I enjoyed this show more than I thought I would, even if it's pretty ugly. I really loved Cuff

I've been meaning to try this show. Clearly better than I originally thought it might be.

From start to finish, this was my pick for the one to watch of the season and I was not disappointed. The mix of low key melancholy and playful romantic comedy is fairly unique.

One of the few good new anime this season, so this news is greatly appreciated.
Yes the CG characters are a bit annoying, but they're at least trying their best unlike the fight scenes of Kumo desu ga, or some scenes in Dai no Daibouken and honestly after a few episodes I actually prefer it to the generic JC Staff style.

This went from a decent show to one of the best of the season. It is an offbeat story with a lot of quirky characters actually a bunch of misfits - very sweet and emotionally engaging.

Minus a few times, the 3D CGI models worked well and look awesome. I don't get why anyone is turned off by it. Looks awesome. Hopefully S2 or whatever the sequel is if Funi is wrong also uses 3D CGI models. I want more of this amazingly sweet and romantic comedy anime and I'm glad a sequel got announced :)
