I had seen on Instagram that Asuka Kawazu was cosplaying Rebecca, and it seemed sort of random and out of nowhere. Now it all makes sense.

Why does Playboy magazine has to commemorate One Piece's 1,000th published chapter? Is it a common occurence in the Playboy magazine in Japan to celebrate manga-related stuff? I'm just being curious here x)

I doubt anyone in Japan cares. They plaster half-naked girls on the covers of shounen magazines all the time in Japan. And sexualizing manga characters isn't a big deal given all the scenes we've seen with Nami and all the other One Piece ladies already.

Weekly Playboy celebrates a lot of manga collabs, yes.

It's weird to me to see a TV announcer take part in a collab like this. You wouldn't see something like this in the US; maybe in Mexico though lol.

Does American Playboy? Last I heard they axed the nudity awhile back.

According to Wikipedia, US Playboy dropped nudity for a year in 2017, then hastily brought it back.
Honest question is whether US Playboy can even be said to exist anymore. They stopped publishing the print magazine last year.

the teens who started reading one piece in 98 are now in their 40s.
