3-gatsu no Lion is by far the greatest thing ever created by humanity. God bless Umino sensei for creating a story that impacted my life. Always hopeful for a season 3.

It's such a shame the manga still isn't available in English. I don't know why all the publishers are completely ignoring it.

I agree with the above comments. I saw this story via soranews and was just so happy to see it.

Related: The author of Nodame Cantabile did a similar thing and Tomokazu Seki and Ayako Kawasumi also provided audio for it! https://twitter.com/nino0120444/status/1252879063590465537?s=20

for all the praise you hear, 3G is incredibly unpopular outside of Japan. Like I don't want to start stereotyping anime fans, but it is true that these sorts of genres are not a seller. Comparatively for all that hate you hear on something like SAO, that is a killer app anime that makes the most money like SnK.

If you read or keep up with March as a manga, you know the tone and pace of it is not for everyone. The anime did a ton to make it livelier in a good way

also, almost no one knows what Honey and Clover is or was now. Bummer since that is a legitimate 10/10 animanga and has welded canon with Gatsu as of the newer chapters. Really wish people went and saw that anime before seeing March's

The manga has been completely translated into French so far, and the anime is streamed in Germany and France.

that doesn't really say much of anything about its popularity, especially the streaming bit.

France is very special when it comes to comics/mangas in the first place, so not really a good example imo. They always had a wider range of manga, that would never get published in other American or European countries.

Because the comic industry in France is very huge. If I'm not wrong, France is the biggest industry for manga outside of Asia.

( I heard even the biggest after Japan, but I'm not sure about that. I always assumed it would be South Korea or China. )

How exactly the industry grew so big, I only have limited knowledge of, so it's probably better to do research on your own. But yeah, definitely jealous of the variety of manga they have in France.

i just want 3 gatsu to be successful so it gets another anime since the arc that ensues after where the anime left off is the best in the series so far. I also want to support the mangaka.

SHAFT did not halfass the anime at all and anyone that's seen it knows they put a lot of effort. So it's weird and worrying there's still no S3.

The only explanation is sales doomsday but I heard it was popular on TV in JP actually

It says that "unpopular" isn't the right adjective to describe Sangatsu no lion, unless you compare it with the popularity of the latest shounen mega-hit and strictly from a US point of view.

You want something "unpopular"? Mad Bull 34, *that's* "unpopular" :-p

Well, you are not completely wrong about that, but Italy and Spain also have a big comic market. Manga and other comics have always been huge in Italy, especially. Germany's manga and anime market has also grown in diversity in the last few years. And there's of course the asian markets for manga as well (France always says it's the biggest manga market outside of Japan, but I'm pretty sure manga has always been bigger in Taiwan and Korea).

So yes, I think citing France and Germany's case with Sangatsu no Lion is pretty valid as a counter-argument :-p

So glad more artists are giving PSAs. It shows they want everyone to be safe. Some aren't getting the ideas too.

France is HUGE with the anime/manga Industry. That's all there is to it. Some cultures are are going to like it while some aren't. Why else does France have more than one anime? Witch is very popular and has been. It is technically a French anime. Radiant is one too. The Latin American/Hispanic industry is big as well. There are a lot of anime that did well in the states while not in Japan.

There's a lot of hardcore shoujo fans who know. Except you are right. It was big back when shoujo beat was still publishing. Everyone who liked shoujo knew that while finding out vampire knight was getting an anime. Personally, I liked the series but end made me realize I hated the plot. Characters? Amazing. Plot? No but that's just me.

I don't mind waiting a little extra for S3 if SHAFT does it. My all-time favorite series.
