I heard the anime is pretty different from the manga so far (haven't read it myself though).
The first episode left me with good impressions but the second felt a bit tedious. Hopefully once it gets to the more faithful parts, it'll get more interesting. |

Being a french person, I got access to the latest volume 10 before Japan at 7th & the rest of the world, 2nd volume in english, in November.
All I can say is: please, give it a chance. Tony Valente worked personally with the staff at Lerche, from how the design should be approached to which voice actor/actress he would prefer (and were available of course) Of course, as it airs on a public channel during the day, Yusuke Fujita (productor) announced that the head on violence we see in the manga was difficult to adapt properly. While that news kind of bummed me, I still root strongly for the anime series because of the story it has to tell; that's the point I'm sure will be delivered properly and which will make people enjoy Radiant thoroughly. Seth's growth, the world building, foreshadowing and the lovable cast from both protagonists/antagonists to come will surely hit it off with the audience. The anime has been confirmed to be 21 episodes and adapting the first 4 volumes. Volume 4, to this day, is still my favorite volume. I love it, it makes a huge turn and shows how Tony's storytelling can be seriously amazing. So this season's climax shall emerge towards the second half. A reminder that both Hiro Mashima & Murata Yusuke, authors of Fairy Tail & One Punch Man, praised the series on all fronts. Murata will meet Tony Valente in Japan, 11 November 2018 for a live discussion. Mashima drew one of Radiant's female protagonist in one of the volumes. |

I read the manga so i can confirm, while not entirely an original animation, it wasn't really faithful so far but ultimately all they changed were only minor things so that didn't matter much, i actually prefer the beginning in the anime over the manga .
Despite it being a french manga, it's by far one of the closest series to Fairy Tail, |

I'm the opposite of the opening post in that I was unsure about the show in the first episode but I enjoyed the second episode a lot more, so I think I'll be sticking with it. It gives me a certain Fairy Tail like vibe.

Really on the fence about this one so far, it's watchable but there's nothing that is really hooking me at the moment. I definitely see it's potential for telling a fun/interesting story but the fatigue from too many 'been here, done that' moments is keeping me from truly investing. As for Seth himself I just keep thinking that Asta from Black Clover has taken a wrong turn somewhere and ended up in another shonen.

I don't normally watch this type of shows, so for me Radiant is actually pretty fresh. While I could guess almost every beat of both episodes before they happened, there's still something charming and entertaining about it and the characters, and I have a feeling it'll only get better as it goes on.

Yes, excuse me English is not my native language I didn't use the correct words surely. They had to tone down on the violence depicted in the manga, such as blood probably and wounds, since it's airing during day on a public channel, and in Japan they have strict policies towards that. It's a bit "censored" in a way, graphically. |

So far this is super charming. I initially became interested in the anime due to the French origins of the series, and so far I think it's been a worthwhile series to jump into. Seth, Alma, the Brave Quartet and even the Nemesis all seem interesting or charming enough to be invested in.
And yes, I do appreciate that the series is exploring some different perspectives sorcerers have on how they should carry themselves. As mentioned, it doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it doesn't have to. So far it's been fun and I'm looking forward to more. |

Radiant approved the rule of three episodes! I’m not someone who closely follows the Shonen genre but being a big fan of Hunter x Hunter, I can say that I liked this show. I hope the Manga arrives soon to Mexico.

Never read the manga and watched the first three episodes today, and all I can think of "it's Fairy Tail". The character reminds me so much of Natsu.
And of course off-the-bat we get the ol "young boy is special" trope, which has gotten old. Would be nice if we see a hero start off as normal and through the course of the series become special through works, not because he was born with or gifted powers to become "the best". Overall, I'm not impressed with Radiant. It's uninventive and cliche. |

I finished the first volume of Radiant over the weekend, and Alma and Seth's backstory wasn't in it. They rearranged the material to make their parting more meaningful. They also introduce Seth's traveling companions before he leaves, which makes a bit more sense (at least Alma knows where Seth is going!), but I'm fine with small changes.
I like Alma, and think it's too bad the story (and Seth) leaves her behind so soon. But otherwise the show is a solid 5 on a shonen story scale--not Fullmetal Alchemist good, nor early Black Clover unmemorable. I am interested in it because of Tony Valente's presence at NYCC, and one thing both Tony and Viz emphasized is that the story improves considerably by the 3rd and 4th volumes. Since only volume 1 is out in English, I'm willing to give the anime a chance--I love Tony's whimsical art style, so it should be a fun ride! |

I wasn't too impressed with the first two episodes, but it redeemed itself with the third. While I'm disappointed that Alma won't be a major player from here on, if she even gets to appear at all, I at least have hope that they can tell an engaging story, if the 3rd ep is any indication. Still, what a waste of an unusual character after they put so much life into her.

I've been enjoying this so far. Better executed and more charming than Black Clover -- really, for the opening few episodes, better in most respects than most other shounen titles. Will be interesting to see if it falls into the usual long-running shounen doldrums, and if it can ever work up the energy to match the standout arcs (e.g., Naruto's Pain arc) that really made the major shounen titles great.

I think Doc's role is to be part plot facilitator and mostly comic relief in the tradition of incompetent con-men, like Rat Man in Kitarou. Sometimes such characters are lovable but they don't have to be to fulfill their function. Being unlovable can work as well. It's too early to say which type he'll end up being.
Everything may seem super expensive to outsiders, but no one in the city seemed to be struggling to make ends meet, so they must have incomes to match. It's probably like the sticker shock of living in West Virginia and moving to New York City. 
As for Yaga, that was certainly telegraphed a year in advance. I wonder if he's related to Alma, or if that's just the standard eye design for older sorcerers in this. Guess we'll find out next week. Kinda hard to believe that Seth shares a seiyuu with Slime's Shizu.
