I guess 4Kids wanted to keep this under wraps until they could aquire more episodes. But why now? Furthermore, why delay the return of One Piece to 4Kids TV? The show doesn't do exceptionally well there, but 4Kids is treating it like "the next Yu-Gi-Oh" by exposing it on two networks and three different timeslots. Odd.

4Kids has announced on its forums that it has broadcast all 26-episodes of Mew Mew Power that it has.

Wait a sec, I don't remember episodes 24, 25 and 26 ever airing in the US. ^_^; I heard they aired in Australia though...

Hopefully it WON'T happen. I think you all know why by now...

Well, not me. I guess they only aquired the first half because they didn't REALLY think that the show would be profitable to them. Now, they are more or less directly giving the viewers the finger (even more than they have been) by making the above statement. In any case, it's just like them to do these sort of things.

And with that, I'll stop there.

YES! Thank goodness that the hell is finally over! Mew Mew Power was their worst dub ever and I'm appalled at how sloppily it was handled and just how terrible the English voice artists were. In most edited dubs, there's usually at least a few voice artists that I can tolerate, but with Mew Mew Power, everybody's voice artist made me cringe and I couldn't stand to watch more than the first episode of it dubbed. It sickens me to see what 4Kids did to one of my favorite shows and I can only hope that 4Kids will eventually lose their rights to Tokyo Mew Mew, so somebody else like ADV or Geneon can come along and re-dub it uncut to give Tokyo Mew Mew the treatment it deserves. But I wonder what's going to happen to 4Kids' Mew Mew Power forum now....

Well isn't this quite a development. First, 4Kids gives up the license to Pokemon (their biggest cash cow) and now they can't even get more episodes of an anime they already own. I think 4Kids is seeing the end of the road, or at least the end of their licensing days.

I would assume that the problem is from the high licensing costs in Japan (Both ADV and Geneon licensed less anime in 2005 than 2004) and their horrible reputation within the anime business. 4Kids should have went with the times and tried to cash in on both markets: the children market and (for the lack of a better term) the otaku market.

But, bad news for 4Kids is good news for us.

And not to mention that their other big cash cow, Yu-Gi-Oh! is about to end its run. But it was already loosing popularity anyway.

Slowly but surely people, slowly but surely.

It's funny how when I posted this on these boards it was ignored, but I send it into AnimeNation and it gets posted.

Except for 4Kids, which is not going to become unprofitable and go under just because they failed to get more episodes of a show with low ratings. It's funny how people are turning this into prophecies of "the end of 4Kids." I don't like them either, but come on, they just have to license some other children's anime (which will get complaints from a small, hardcore group of fans) in order to keep making money, which they will, since their business model of Americanizing shows, as horrendous as it is to anime fans, will always make more money than producing the "pure" versions we've come to know and love.

4Kids can't afford another season of Tokyo Mew Mew or to renew One Piece when the contract expires in exactly 332 days.

Here's why they'll go Bankrupt soon:

Loosing Pokemon
One Piece and Mew Mew bringing in lower ratings than "8 Simple Rules' did after John Ritter died
Yugioh over in more than one way
Throwing away Shaman King and Ultimate Muscle and making no profit from them
The Shaman King Video games
Still recovering from Cubix
Paying Fox millions for a Saturday morning block that nobody watches besides 6 year old girls
Paying Gonzo to make GI Joe Sigma Force and it flopping
Raping Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Spending money they don't have to edit the life outta One Piece
Loosing loads of their voice actors to other companies

Saddam's terror was stopped and so shall be Kahn's, Amen.

*dingdingdingdingdingdingdingding!*

Ford didn't go under when they got rid of the Edsel. 4Kids isn't going under if they get rid of Mew Mew Power. Them finishing 26 episodes means that they finished 26 episodes. It's not like they canned it after some random number like 17 or something. They had the first half and they showed the first half. End of story.

For all of you that don't know, buying 26 episodes doesn't really cost anything....which is why a new 13-26 episode anime is aquired by an anime company nearly every week and why FUNimation won't get the brains to get a good anime..... Bleach.
