I wonder how the response was to it. It looks cool to me, but I wonder if it'll fit Japanese tastes?

I think it'll do fine, as it was produced specially for an international audience. Multiple ethnicities, realistic drawing styles and no nationalism that I've noticed.

Call me weird but Akins said it would satisfy american audiences.Says nothing about japanese audiences or similiar.I could just be paranoid and easily be reading to much into that statement but to me i get a feeling that it might not air to well in japan.I know ig production company are excellent producers of anime(gits sac to name one series) so i am most likely be paranoid.

It wasnt the premiere of the US dub.

They showed the first 2 episodes of the US dub at Anime weekend Atlanta in September, and may have even shown it before that.

Series has alot of potential though. the first 2 eps (which will be aired this coming saturday) were pretty good.

I saw the first episode on a preview DVD that was included in the new Anime Insider, and I think it's a real nice show. Too bad I don't have Cartoon Network. Sad

"Akins said that the good quality of the work done by Production I.G would satisfy the US audiences."

Maybe, but the stupidity of the network he represents will NOT.

Also, for the record, I'm sure it has satisfied the Japanese audiences who stay up after hours to watch it (it airs Wednesday's at 2:40 AM on TV Asahi, which I'm guessing means it's Tuesday, but turns into Wedsneday at midnight). Oh, and the only reason it airs after hours is because the network (TV Asahi) doesn't think that a significant number of people will watch it (i.e., it has nothing to do with the content, though as has been said, it IS being made for an int'l audience, or so TOON claims...).
