I must say, Mika Nakashima has a beautiful sounding voice.
On her website, which song track is it you are referring to that you can't remember the name of it for the life of you? |

The one that loads when you first open Nakashima's site. (Or you can click "Hitori" from the "Pickup Page" button that follows your mouse around--if you use IE. Darn thing won't load with Firefox.)

Actually, that does work. I am using FireFox 1.0.4, oh and that would be track 13. Also a single if you click "home", it will be released on the 8th of June |

Oh, then I guess it's just Morrich. Real Player does seem to work fine; WMP is another story.
With that settled...do you know the name of the original song? ;p |

Yeah, that has to run in IE because that would be Sony Japan's website that isn't compatible with FireFox.
No, I don't know the song yet, I know someone who could. |

The Berryz single is not as bad, its better then that Viyuden one (that is also going to be on some 'Journey to the West' anime with Berryz song). They have gotten better with their singing since their first single. They are not are any good as Morning Musume. (Fans can agrue that they are going to beat Morning Musume. with how they get the better songs and etc.) but they are improving with each single they release (They are just pre-teens but not the next BoA). Now I wish that the other girls (They only have 4 girls out the 8 singing main melody) sang some melody but thats Tsunku. But, this single is a great single (and its better then their last single, yucky Special Generation).
I think you would like the single if you just sang it in depth. |

You can't justify bad music by pointing to worse! But I'm sort of morbidly curious about Special Generation now. If their new single is "great" in comparion... |

I don't like much of Berryz. The only song I really liked and that was really catchy and fun was "Piriri to Yukou". Everything else is just blah to me. I like Hello! Project, but a lot of the recent stuff has been littered with bad decisions. I enjoy Viyuuden quite a bit, at least. But the entire idea of Berryz Koubou is painful to me. >_> But I don't think it's fair to base them on just one single, because everyone has duds.

i think the nakashima mika song your thinking of is yuki no hana from her love album...it's suppose to be like a continuation or something like that.

It's an American song from the early 90s, I think. Used to hear it all the time on the radio.

catcat is correct in that "Hitori" is not a cover, but is a continuation of "Yuki no Hana." Perhaps that's why it sounds so familiar. (edit: b'oh, JMays, didn't see your post before I posted. At any rate, it's not a cover of any song, American or otherwise, though I suppose I can hear a few similarities between "Hitori" and the big ballads of the '90s.)
I'm going to have to respectfully disagree here; I highly enjoyed all of Viyuden's singles so far, and I think their most recent one ("Ajisai Ai Ai Monogatari") is their best so far. Nice instrumentals (which would fit for whatever "Journey to the West" anime it's going to be a theme of [whoo, bad grammar!]), and the girls are improving in their vocals, especially Rika. I actually think they're one of the few recent H!P groups to keep an eye on. Berryz, on the other hand, I really do not like. The only single I liked of theirs was their first, and the slapdash music and lyrics on the rest of their songs coupled with the girls' shrill vocals just turns me off. (And as bad as "Special Generation" was, I liked it a lot better than "Nanchuu Koi wo...") And now I'm going to completely invalidate my opinion in the eyes of everyone here by admitting that the songs on hitomi's single are a new guilty pleasure for me. |

Hmm...I guess I could be wrong, but the chorus is so distinctive that I'm almost certain I've heard it before.
Lol, along with Numa Numa, right? |

The only thing I enjoy about Ajisai Ai Ai Monogatari was the dance. But, the girls vocals have improved somewhat (though Erika's Ai no Bakaryou = teh win!). But then again, I am just a sucker into fast pace, danceable songs.... |
