I've never been big on Sci-fi, but if it's from the man who brought one of my favorite manga characters to life, I'll give it a shot.

I never got into Naruto but I'm a huge fan of Sci-Fi! So I hope this turns out to be good! I'll be sure to check it out! I I shove it will be in Jump since they are in desperate need of a new hit...

Definitely want to see how this new sci fi manga plays out for him. Just how far will he be able to take it without interruptions.

Very excited to see what Kishimoto has in store for us. At his best he's a very capable mangaka so I have faith in this project. Hearing that it's sci-fi is even more interesting.

If it drags into another 300+ chapters, then I doubt it won't be like Naruto who suffered from quality issues. But this is WSJ we're talking about, I'm actually quite intrigue if they will axe a succeeding work of a renowned mangaka who just finished doing one of their flagships and contributed them big sales.

You don't need to be, because this already happened in the past with the author of Rurouni Kenshin!

And the author of Death Note, I believe.
Volume sales and ratings is everything.

I thought Bakuman ended pretty nicely actually.
But I honestly thought Kishimoto would like, retire after wrapping up Naruto.
I mean, Toriyama retired after Dragon Ball, right? Naruto's somewhat on that scale of fame, but I guess I could be wrong.

Toriyama retired from long-runners. He's sticking strictly to short stories, one-shots, and character design for other people. He hasn't retired from manga completely though.
I thnk what Kishimoto wants is to keep drawing, but this time do it more at the pace he wants and with more breaks. Eiichiro Oda is now given a week-long break every 3 to 5 weeks.I take it Shueisha will allow Kishimoto that privilege too.

Yeah, I know Toriyama retired from just long-runners, and not from manga altogether, but I really thought Kishimoto would do the same.

Kishi did say last year that it'll be likely that this next work won't be a weekly series. I'm thinking maybe a series for Jump SQ?
