Yesterday I got this question when I was doing...er...don't care it
 .
If someone wants to create a topic releated to Japan but nothing about anime (you know what I'm trying to say)...What should we do?? |

Well... We don't want an "off-topic" board, and although there's demand for a "serious" discussion board, we'd prefer keeping the site focused primarily on anime/manga. We've been planning for a while now to slightly increase the number of forums, including a possible translation/Japanese board, but we haven't nailed down the specific intent of the expansion, so they haven't been added to the list yet. The ANN forums are intended to be primarily for discussion about anime and manga, and things directly related to them, such as "music in anime" (thus the creation of the music forum), "events about anime" (thus the creation of the events forum), etc. A forum about the Japanese language might be OK, but it would need strictly controlled so that it doesn't stray into Japanese current events (which would be better for a "serious" board). Maybe after Otakon we'll have the necessary time to fully discuss the addition of more boards.. We'd prefer not jumping to hasty conclusions and add a forum that would detract from the site or its intent. |
