This is a masterpiece. pure and simple. THe plot isnt too complex itself, with Kino journeying to many countries and staying at each only 3 days max. ALong the way Kino learns about life and the lessons of humanity and its shortcomings and successes. This one is like anime Zen, it really makes you think hard about the lessons told and many times, there is no right or wrong solution, but merely twochoices. Highly recommend

Wow, I guess the search really is your friend. Anyways, I just finished this series yesterday, and I have to say that its great. One of the only bad things about it is that there's no really storyline. Every episode, except for two, are fairly "stand alone". Now I'm off to finish Texhnolyze, yay!

Finished this yesterday as well and I have to say wow. I like how this anime says so much about the world we live in without being preachy.
This show manages not to repeat itself and I admire the one episode story arcs and how much is told without coming out and saying it. Each place she visits has it's own wonderful or not so wonderful things about it.
The ending episode, was a tearjerker up there with Haibane, and only a couple notches down from Grave of the Fireflies.
All the Best,
Nani?

I think it's really a shame that such great series' go unnoticed while other mediocre titles get much attention. It's like everyone knows what Gundam Wing and Love Hina are, but no one has much idea or isn't caring about Victory Gundam or Maison Ikkoku. ::Sigh::

That happens sometimes, which is why its up to you to get out there and tell people about it.
Kino's is very different from the norm getting released right now. All you need is a bit of the back story and you're ready to sit down and enjoy it no matter which volume you jump in on. It really is more of a journey, with each episode featuring a whole new set of problems. It reminds me very much of the old morality fables you hear. It's all about getting something out of what you see.
It's also not in your face trying to wow you with visuals and special effects. It really is about the story.
Kino's is definitely one of the underrated titles of the year that's under a lot of people's radar. If you like solid introspective stories, then you have to check it out.
