On tonight's jeoprady under the Tech TV category there was a question about anime. The question asked more or less what japanese animation was called and showed a quick clip of an anime that I wasn't able to identify. Even better than the fact that they had this question on one of the biggest game shows on tv was the fact that one of the guys on the show answered correctly. I'm glad that such a big show would think of anime as mainstream enough to think it reasonable the average person would know what it is. Just thought the people on ANN might want to know about it.

Interesting enough for me to post in the news... but first I need to find the exact question & answer... and preferably the name of the guy that got it right.
And also the show used for the clip... The contestant names can be foudn here: http://www.sonypictures.com/tv/shows/jeopardy/ |

I googled it for a while before I posted last night, but I couldn't find any site that archives all the questions, answers, and the little clips that they show with some questions.

Keep watching the Jeopardy forums on that site, Tempest. It seems a person named "tdciago" on those forums posts a recap of every episode, but it takes a few days to go up. He has Monday done, so I'm assuming he'll do Tuesday next.
He also posts a link in his messages were you can download the whole episode. |

Whoa... I guess there are crazy fans of other shows, even Jeopardy! Recaps of Jeopardy... Very very interesting.

Interesting. It might have been more fun to name the anime, but that's OK. I agree that it's a good example of anime's becoming more mainstream. (Kind of like the T-Mobile Sidekick commercials) Oh yeah, I like the way Gekigangar3 spells "Jeopardy."

Hmmm if I remember correctly like in the first season of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? with the old host of Regis Philbin, there was a question from the anime series Pokemon and the question was: Which of these is NOT a pokemon? That poor guy got it wrong and it was like for $125,000 at least.

I was just thinking about that as I signed on, trying to figure out if I made an ass of myself. Maybe it was last week?

Actually it was Monday night that had the Tech TV catagory and the write up on the Jeopardy forum doesn't mention it. Emerje |

Have you checked the video? I'm gonna download it myself, and see if it's there. I only briefly checked the writeup.

Ah, here it is.
There was a pic included, but apparently it was a video originally. I don't want to hotlink the picture, so I'll post the site where all the questions from that night were. Click here. The person who answered it was, Naomi Brokaw, according to this website. --edit-- Oh, and the answer was, duh, "What is Anime?". |

Where can you see the video? All Ineed to post the news article is to know what show was included in the clip. If need be, I'll just call TechTV tomorrow. -t |
