Regardless of Mr. Yune laughing, I think that is just more than a bit childish to put a pie in someone's face just because you disagree with them.

I think that the ban was a good idea. The next person that he may have tried to do that to may not be so cheerful about it.

Yeah, it’s not to smart to pie someone in the face on camera. That jerk got lucky; if Yune had wanted to he could have filed charges, and since it was filmed there’s no way that fool could have gotten out of it.

Yeah, I think it would be considered assault, even though it's with a pie, and with it having been filmed, that would be pretty incriminating evidence. The moron definitely got lucky that Yune was a good sport about it.

i really don't understand how he can be in a huff over the series "not being true to the hardcore fans" when robotech itself is a gross bastardization of 3 other series spliced into one....

as much as you can have fond memories of it as a kid...it was always a monstrosity to begin with...it has no "purity" that's now been spoiled by shadow chronicles.

big ups to yune for reacting so well to it though =)

Yeah, huge props to Tommy for handling that douchebag with a sense of style. If it were me, I think I would've probably decked him.

Still, I must admit, that's fantastic film. Really gets your heart racing with anticipation. Twisted Evil

Jesus, what an a**hole. Tommy Yune was incredibly gracious about that whole situation. Industry people are just way too nice sometimes, especially considering all the flak they get from "fans."

lol. Props to Tommy for taking it well. I would have been seriously pissed if that guy had done that to me lol. I think the permanent ban was definitely deserved.

He took it pretty well.
To jsevakis:I personally would not have hit him(though it might have been deserved).I would have security find him and ban him from the con.Fans spend alot of money at cons.Hit them where it hurts..the wallet. You figure average fans spend roughly at least 200 dollars to get to the con and spend time there(hotel and food).Banning him from the con would have been better.

The jerk has been banned from AX permanently. He will never get back in again.

That's one of the few good moves AX has done with this year's con.

Trying to rationalize the though process of crazy fans like this guy is a waste of time. Seeing as their actions are the end product of extreme emotions rather then logical thought. You might as well try to empty the ocean with a spoon. Both task are equally impossible.

I might have been more OK with it if he had clearly done it as a misguided but good-natured joke, but this douchebag did this out of anger and contempt and self-righteous nerd rage.

Even when Yune was trying to be a sport about it at the end there and not punch that nerd in the balls, the nerd was giving a thumbs down during the photo and generally just looked like the biggest anus in the universe.

I hope someone disagrees with something this guy does in the future and instead of just arguing with him about it or complaining online, he punches him in the gut.

I was wondering where the biggest jackass in the world was. I just never thought he would be at AX. Turns out he's a lucky SOB as well. The so called 'target' was very nice to him, both physically, and lawfully. A good example of rampant fanboyism gone awry and taking an unhinged turn for the worse.

This Sesshoumaru had personally witnessed the incident and found it highly amusing.

There are reasons for which this one and many others dislike Tommy Yune. Reasons which are justified and is only an indirect relation to Robotech. This is more of an ethics issue and personal integrity, all having to do with jobs in the film making industry. There is rumor going around that it was Tommy Yune who was directly responsible for the firing of Tom Bateman from Harmony Gold, something having to do with jealousy stemmed from a written treatment of the storyline for the future second installment of the Shadow Chronicles.

While this information is second hand, your Lord has belief that there is some truth in this matter. However, word of mouth is word and mouth and cannot be held in serious discussion.

There are many, including this Sesshoumaru, who have found that Tom Bateman is THE number one Robotech Fan in the world. Tom Bateman wished to carry Robotech into the new generation of animation and revive the once fading franchise into and beyond it's former glory. It was Tom Bateman, script editor and advisor for Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles, who changed the original script to at least make the movie somewhat presentable and appealing both visually and vocally. Tom Bateman will be sorely missed.

As for the pie incident -- it would of been more hilarious if it was a coconut cream pie instead of just whip cream.
