Excluding songs that just have the artist talk about themselves and how much better they are than you. Most of the others almost always tell a story, whether it be of love, friendship, good times etc. Some better than others of course. As a writer who should probably read more than he does (at least novels). I draw influence and inspiration in from other mediums, anime and games are probably the most notable. However along with that I sometimes use music to help me out of a writing block. Which I'm sort of in right now.
It's even better when multiple sources of inspiration come in. Combining for an even better and more original story (btw, my stories are original, I don't copy and replicate a plot in a slightly different way or perspective). In this case, the name "Fourth Avenue Cafe" and I guess BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad and of course a bit of FMA (which always has a place one way or another) has given me a rather interesting idea for a script/short story. Which is great however like I said, most songs do have a story to them. Sure I can go on the name but perhaps the English lyrics to the song could further enhance my understanding of what's being portrayed in the song and could add to my story. So could anyone perhaps shed some light on the story of "Fourth Avenue Cafe" by L'Arc~en~Ciel and maybe the English lyrics as well? It'd be greatly appreciated

I'm not sure if the translation is accurate, but my interpretation is that some person feels very melancholic because it's about saying goodbye and parting ways. |

Thanks and yeah that's what I think it's about. Seems like it's either a matter of brothers a part or really good friends especially because it mentions 'him'. Changing from what may be love to something more suttle which is friendship, unless L'Arc 'aren't interested in girls'. As far as I know they are interested in girls.
Besides that I have a bit of an image in my mind and can relate it to my story, perhaps I'll note the coming of a holiday dragged down by sadness. In the context of my story, it would be a holiday in which the cafe is closed down. |

Yeah it mentions "him" a lot, and I immediately thought it was about two guys.. brrrr..
I always thought why "fourth avenue cafe" was the title though... |

Yeah, there's nothing in the lyrics that even makes a refernce to it or at least one you could actually call a refernce.
