Apologies if this has been posted and I missed it. Apparently the August 4th release of the next tankoban of the manga has some info on the new series. A couple of questions have come to my mind.

Did you watch the original anime? Did you like it?

I watched both the TV series and the 3 OVA's. Given how the 3rd OVA ended, I'm curious if this new anime will be an actual sequel, or if they'll just keep it ambiguous whether this follows the manga storyline or the OVA storyline.

Also, I really enjoyed the HxH anime. It was well-paced, in my opinion, and I loved the Greed Island stories. Honestly, I'm glad they ended it the way they did, rather than going through really long filler-arcs like today's shonen shows do.

What is the likelihood of this seeing a US release?

I'm going to guess the chances are slim. I don't know if Viz licensed the OVA's or not, but they certainly never saw a release stateside. After this long of a time, I'd bet if they do license the new show, the OVA's still get skipped over in favor of putting out something that's new and hyped up.

Have you kept up with the manga?

Sadly, no. I didn't even get as far as the anime did. When I kept hearing news of Togashi's long hiatuses, I quit reading it for fear of catching up and having only frustration at the frequent delays. It's always been my intention to really dive into the series once there was a definite conclusion. It's apparently restarting in August, and I'd be curious to see if Togashi wraps it up finally so he can focus on helping out with the anime.

Edit: Apparently, I did miss it Razz

Anyway, I'd still like some feedback on my questions, if nobody minds.

I'll play along.

Did you watch the original anime? Did you like it?

It took me a little bit to get into it... the first few episodes were slooooowww... especially if you've seen a lot of shonen anime. After that though I highly enjoyed it. Loved the ovas. It's actually really interesting to watch HxH if you've seen Naruto before... you can see how much of it was probably influenced by HxH... but im sure that has been beaten to death.

What is the likelihood of this seeing a US release?

I also agree on the slim chances. If I recall this sold rather poorly in the US. One thing that comes to mind is, I wonder if any of it has to do with the title / how the show is perceived? Honestly the first time I saw the title of this show, I was like Hunter x Hunter? Are two people with rifles going to race to see who can shoot the deer? O_o;;. Only after I watched it did I really get a sense of what they meant by Hunters.

Have you kept up with the manga?

Never read the manga. I generally try to stay away from mangas that are still being published since it takes a long time for stuff to happen / get released. Probably in the back of my head I wanted the anime to come out as well so I wouldn't have to read ahead Surprised.

- Additional Comments -

I heard a rumor that they were going to get a new cast to do this. I'd assume it wouldn't be too hard to get Gon's voice though... since it is Naruto's.
