I don't care at all about this show, but when I saw James would be writing the reviews I knew I couldn't miss them.
That was brilliant!
(Yes, I know posting animated gifs in the forums is frowned upon, but come on!)

Better than anything I had hoped for. This is a masterpiece of storytelling.
The James review, this is.

Gee, somebody thinks they're clever. Even just quickly skimming that deluge of words was painful. In any case, I'm only here to say that I'm reasonably enjoying Momentary Lily. Guilty!

I refuse to watch anything from GoHands, but I read the review because it was by James. This is absolutely the best [expletive] review/story/original anime idea I’ve ever read. James, you should seriously consider creating original stories for better anime studios to produce .

I have not laughed so hard reading an anime review in years. Hope the reviewer will provide us with weekly inspiration as the season progresses.

As someone as disappointed with the show's narrative and tonal choices as anyone, this level of self-indulgent dunking on a show is unprofessional and something I'd expect from a teenager's blog, not ANN. You are not cute or clever for clowning on people's work this hard, you're just exposing a mean-spirited nature.

GoHands keeps exposing how people are not so honest when they demand creativity and less generic mass appeal stuff: People are harsh on them becsuse of creative choices they make because they want to, because it’s what they like, pandering to themselves first snd anyone else second.
They’ve failed to make much money with any of their shows: They already know their aesthetics and choices aren’t the road to success. They could make more normal looking anime (and they have: Seitokai Yakuindomo, which has none of their typical aesthetics), but they don’t want to And they get criticized for it . So being creative and different won’t get you praise: despite people demanding that in theory. People don’t like the realities of true creative freedom, just the perfect ideals they invent in their heads. GoHands is many things, and creative and unique to extreme degrees is one of them. Nothing else looks like their ouput. They could put their studio name at the end of a trailer, and people would know it’s them from the first second. Good or bad? Up for people to decide. Frankly, I find them fascinating for not changing, despite their lack of economic success, and enjoy a lot of their projects: this included

The epic tale James weaves each week in these reviews is more than the price of admission.

I was not expecting a positive review of these episodes. While I think the show mostly looks fine visually, I'm sure there are things that can be criticized about it (I'm not exactly a professional in that regard), and I can levy multiple criticisms at the writing myself, but this "review" isn't criticism, it's bullying.
And yeah, I'm sure this post will fall on deaf ears, but I thought it important to put it out regardless.

You're trying to do this spiel about an anime blatantly cribbing off Madoka and where all the characters are some sort of bland anime character stereotype who constantly repeat their one quirk like they're parrots. There is no creativity to be found here, it is the epitome of generic mass appeal in an attempt to get them some money.

Yh it's kinda like saying a movie filmed entirely at dutch angles is "brave" and "dared to be different". The only GoHands show i've liked was K and that was because it at least tried to merge decent to good storytelling and characters with an interesting visual style. But since then GoHands has just gone style over substance and even said style is largely lens flares and things constantly moving.

This sent me. Good on you for using the in-universe pronunciation, too. (Why W'z the character is "wise" and W'z the show is "whizz", I'll never know.)

It is because the studio is committed to using every single facet of their creations to sow discord and malfeasance.
