…Huh.
I heard something about a remaster a while back, but Uchikoshi wasn't involved with the project then. Anyone know if he's been brought on since?
'Course, I've already got plenty of other VNs to play -- 13 Sentinels, AITSF, Arcade Spirits, Katawa Shoujo, Steins;Gate, Your Turn To Die. Plus I've got Muv-Luv Alternative, The House in Fata Morgana, Fate/stay night, and the Apollo Justice and Ace Attorney Investigations compilations on my wishlist. As well as… I dunno, is Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE a visual novel?

Nice that Never 7 is getting a release. Shame about them using the version of Ever 17 with terrible new content by a new writer whose style clashes horribly with everything else.

Don't think Uchikoshi is involved (nor do Nakazawa, the director/writer of Never7/Ever17/Remember11 - cause now they both working at same place again after Nakazawa went to Too Kyo games and worked along with Uchikoshi at several games including AI Somnium Files sequel) - but then it also seems to be just a lazy AI-upscaled remaster of Ever17 from 360, minus the replacement of the 3D characters to 2D sprites.

I'd describe it as, "Probably not in the most technical sense but absolutely in a spiritual sense." The only real substantive gameplay differences between it and Danganronpa are that the overworld's in third person and it has occasional quick time events, it's still mostly reading and the Mystery Labyrinth challenges are pretty much all either remixed DR minigames or wouldn't be out of place among them.

Holy shit, I'd never thought I'd see the day that Ever 17 and Never 7 would ever get rereleased in the west. Wonder if we might see Remember 11 get an official translation if those two do well enough.
