As someone who has read the manga, this is probably a great time to mention that the manga is not known for its action scenes, so the anime will have to pick up the slack on that. In many ways, it really is more about work culture than fighting evil creatures. IMO, the manga’s more exciting scenes are never the demon hunting parts.

I mean I found the action scenes in the manga rather exciting. Maybe it's just a personal taste thing

This is a refreshing take on the Magical Girl and Work genre and so far I think the anime is doing a good job of adapting it.

Kana is a really endearing lead character and Koshigaya is a fun Senpai. I also like how they flipped the usual typecast for Fairouz Ai and Yumiri Hanamori.

I love the Sailor Moon references in the transformation sequences.

Defeating monsters with USB's is definitely unique.

Rikiya Koyama is once again playing the goofily dressed guy in charge of a company, but the man commits to that Magical Girl outfit.

Daiki Yamashita is straight up playing Deku for Magical Girls.

It's fun having Ryota Osaka playing a character in a show that's explicitly not a Harem.

This is the first time in a while that I've watched anything on Amazon Prime Video, and their app has been infuriating for me. It was basically impossible for me to prevent episode 1 from jumping ahead to episode 2 so I could watch the ED and post-credits sequence (and it looks like those will be quite extensive in this show). Worse, a whole lot of the subtitles were several seconds delayed.

Could just be that I'm watching on an LG TV from 2017, mind you -- I didn't see the subtitling issues on my phone. I might try switching from the TV's app to my Roku; it helped with Disney+'s slowdown when I was watching Andor.

One note about the end of episode 2: the placard on the desk says "Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare".

The only thing I miss is Koshigaya calling her boss, "Prez-chan".

But Magilumiere has quite a lot of action, or at least, more magical girls (women) fighting monsters than fidgeting with Excel tables.

Here it's more of an ego thing than horning in on anybody's profits, as it's made clear that Magilumiere will still get all the payment for the Kaii that the mean magical maid killsteals from the girls.

Did I misinterpret the scene? I thought they did lose the payment for the job since they didn't capture the monster and were "saved", but were only concerned about the interloper rather than the payment.

I'm sure it'll be fine, nothing's ever gone wrong in stories about filling a containment system up with monsters.

Same and it's really annoying. Especially since I now have to remove the show it started playing on it's own from my continue watch list =/ I need to see if there's an option to turn off the auto play, but it's just poor presentation that it skips the credits without asking, especially when there's post credits content.

Subtitle timing on the Roku app was much better.

He could have told Kana why they weren't using a wide-range magic circle on this latest job. But he stayed confident Kana would realize the destructive impact it would have on the district on her own, and it makes a stronger impression that way.

My read of the scene is a little different: From his viewpoint, a WRMC may well have proven the right tool for a job. The problem was that Kana was being too quick to decide that. He wasn't doing a trickster-mentor thing, he meant just what he said: The way Magilumiere does things is to hold off on making those calls until they can case the site in person. Then they decide on the right spells for the job, crafting them on-the-fly if need be.

Mei says Magilumiere will still get the payment. Which does invite the question of what's in it for her. Could be a matter of bumping up her own numbers in AST's internal MG rankings?

It must be so surreal for Fairouz Ai and Yumiri Hanamori to do a magical girl transformation/intro together after Tropical Rouge Precure.

Of course in a Magical Girl work show there would be rival Magical Girls and a company that only cares about the profits. Also, so much Akira Ishida this season!

Kana learning to not just keep in mind what she reads in books but also how to properly assess and act in the field as a Magical Girl. love it.

My problem is that the monsters doesn't seem that challenging or even trying to attack anyone (which was a bit improved in the latest episode I guess) so they're problematic mostly because they just exist in that area. So the show could as well be about pest exterminators cosplaying as magical girls with several more steps.

I'm enjoying the series so far but I also have the same issues with it that u do. The monsters just dont seem very threatening tbh. This could change later on of course as the series goes on but right now, I'm just not sold on that aspect of the series. I never find myself at the edge of the seat, thinking how are they're gonna beat this monstrosity.

The little girl really captured Koshigaya's personality in the way she depicted her face in the drawing.

Seeing teeny little Kana overwhelmed by gifts was very cute. It's a job well done with that deserved drawing. Kana and Hitomi dodging those tentacles looked great; same with the magic.

I like the detail that the little girl's spelling is a little off -- her hiragana say "mahou shoujo no oneichan". :3

(Apparently there's precedent -- it's how Hinata says it in March Comes In Like a Lion, for instance.)

If you're going to be a start-up, you definitely want to have top tier talent behind you to pull off unexpected but effective methods in a competitive market. It also helps that you're better at public relations than the competition!

Kana and Koshigaya are becoming an effective duo!

I'm guessing Tsuchiba is going to find herself drawn to the Magilumiere method of being Magical Girls.

Saving the livelihood and homes of the town people is important but earning the adoration and love of a little girl is what it truly means to be a Magical Girl.

I love how watching the chiefs' nightly routine became a sleepover with Kana and Koshigaya. They even painted their nails! Which is probably the most feminine thing Koshigaya has done all series. Also she does own clothes that aren't tracksuits!

It sounds like kaii outbreaks can get really bad if left to fester too long. They had to evacuate an entire district in this situation.

Kana is doing a great job after only 1 month in an industry she was unfamiliar with.
