I saw something about this, and speculation was that it was a visual novel of some sort. Something like Among Us actually makes sense for the series. It is also going straight into Playstation Plus, which makes sense if it's an online multiplayer game.

At a glance, I didn't know what to make of it, but the farther into the trailer I got, the more I realised it's not just an Among Us clone, it's Among Us and someone can use a Death Note. Very interesting. Is also risky of them making those little pawn characters look so visually unappealing in an effort to stay in-universe with the theming and lore. Very interesting.

Something like a decade ago, there was this weird little game called Mitadake/Misuterii High - it took elements of things like Death Note and Salem and used an RPGMaker-looking gameplay format to deliver an experience similar to Among Us, but one I think was much more anime flavoured than Among Us has managed to be. This Death Note game is probably the first time in a decade I've seen something come close to recapturing that particular weird vibe once more.

If this gets a physical release on disc, I'd definitely get it! I wonder if Ryuk will play a role in the game.

Should have been a visual novel with multiple routes

The problem with that, the game's online only. So If/when the game decides to shut down, it'll be a coaster if a physical release were to exist. The steam store page literally mentions how "Online Only" it is on the last paragraph on the game's description.

Honestly as far as implementing the series' concept into a game...this isn't half-bad. And I guess having Light and L watching over and narrating events keeps it tied to something more recognizable to fans of the anime.

I wonder if Ryuk and Misa will be involved or have dialogue? Some of the pieces actually look like them.

I hope they dub it because I'd love to hear the dub cast again.

Being a game is so random. Its barely a 20th anniversary product. DN manga came out Dec 2003 so they are releasing it in November before the 20th anniversary is over.

The Steam page lists the game's audio as Japanese-only. This is a low-budget title announced a week before its release. Maybe if it's popular ( Laughing ) it might get a patched-in dub like that one My Hero Academia game did, but I doubt it. Bandai Namco hasn't worked with Ocean since Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3.

To be frank, it was pretty bad dub job on Dynasty Gundam 3 - they reused a fair chunk of lines recorded from the previous game, and then botched the casting of some of the new or returning characters that didn't have their actor available. Dynasty Gundam 2 marks the last time the largest amount of the original English Gundam cast were all working in tandem without any standout problems. I've been sticking to the JP dubs since, so I don't mind Deathnote being subs-only myself. That DG3 Full Frontal dub still gives me nightmares - sad too, when they did a killer job with the anime casting for Unicorn and managed to have both JP+Eng Full Frontal actors playing their parody character on Persona 5.

With videogame companies they don’t seem to even think about an English Dub these days unless it’s like DBZ or some game that doesn’t have much dialogue to begin with.

Maybe a physical version could be a couch co-op version of the game, that's 2 players or more, with any extra players being controlled by a computer/non-person. I haven't played it myself yet, but there is a physical version of Among Us, at least from what Limited Run Games released.

I get the reference in the pawn style, but it's still not particularly attractive. I think it'd be better to just have chibi versions of the various characters

There are already a bunch of similar games. There is no point in comparing them and intertwining them. I played Emong Ac for half a year, then I got tired of it. And I got tired of all the games. I decided to find something new, I decided Read here about 50 pesos deposit. I have always been interested in this topic. But for some reason I never got around to it. At the moment I am playing Stalker 2. I have been waiting for this game for a long time. This Death Note game is probably the first time in a decade I've seen something come close to recapturing that particular weird vibe once more.

Mitadake/Misuterii High I heard about this, but I don't agree with you.

Why don't they make the game offline?
