Very concerning that any Animal Crossing game would have microtransactions in it at all, but it'd still be ideal if more companies did this to mobile titles & gave everyone a no-transactions offline version once service ended.

I really hope this EOS stuff falls out of trend in the coming years, because it's just very much not-worth playing any of these games from the outset when they either die & get shutdown a year later (like anything from Square) or are going to have a full-featured GotY version later down the line anyways. I'd have grabbed Pocket Camp years ago if it was a one-time purchase price.

Same as above. I wish there had been an offline version of Magia Record to add to that. I'll be picking this up.

I played this before New Horizons came out to tide me over and it was very stingy. There was no way you'd get a complete or even halfway complete set of any furniture unless you whaled. Considering New Horizons was kind of a let-down I might try this again, although I don't think talking to the villagers was any more fun in this, at least there's cute clothes and cool furniture, and maybe some good vibes now that they only want my money once and not constantly.

I've been playing Pocket Camp fairly regularly for the past couple years. I have absolutely no idea what the appeal of an offline version would be. There's very little to actually do in the game if you're not heavily engaged in the social elements, or investing in the (heavily monetized) microtransactions out of raw completionist fervor.

It's really only worth dipping into to far My Nintendo coins, to cash in for cheap merch. Can't imagine the new version will retain that functionality.
