You could make a 10 to 15-minute segment from the Zoro story and another one from maybe the Usopp story if you turn it into a total farce but I don´t see the cinematic appeal in this non-canon short story collection. The last TV special was the dreadful Episode of Sky Island in 2018 so things can only improve. There are 13 of these and Episode of Nami (SP5) and 3D2Y (SP8) are the only ones remotely worth watching.
The lead in the Nami story is an adult male Hikikomori simp and not a cute tween girl so this source has already been made more appealing to a general audience. Not that anyone should care. The Franky, Luffy and Zoro stories seem to be more accurately adapted if judged by the snippets. 4 out of 9 stories seem to have made the cut. This is the first of the original novels, not counting the arguably adapted by the anime Loguetown Arc. Begun the novel adaptions have: https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/One_Piece_Novels#Original_Novels |

This is an anniversary project in the same vein as episode 907 which was the previous anniversary project. Nothing to do with TV specials that aired outside the regular timeslot. (I also would argue Episode of Sabo, East Blue and special 4 are worth checking out.) Anyways, this gonna be absolutely amazing considering it's directed by one of the best directors in the whole industry. |
