I'm pretty excited for this. Really hope it hits that first stretch goal, at the very least. Maybe someday we can get the anime for it too!

YES!!!! Fantastic news. I'm thrilled to see this Kickstarter succeed.
You know, I was thinking about Seven Seas bailing on this title, and I get why, but I also feel it's such a shame. I just finished the first volume of Citrus and ... well ... it's just not good. I noticed "Seven Seas" on the back, and I just shook my head. Like ... you backed out of a manga that, while I admit contains some polarizing content, actually has a wonderful story with dynamic, interesting characters that deal with real life issues ... and now, this many years later, you're releasing this boring, hackneyed, unrealistic story with flat characters that act in ways that make no sense?? I'm hoping Citrus gets better, but ... KnJ was interesting from the first chapter!

Hah! Take that, people who care about social justice and soccer moms! I'm not even a fan of the series, but getting a work of fiction banned or censored because of controversy has always been infuriating to me.

Honestly would've loved to suppor this but even the lowest tier where you actually get anything back was just too high for me right now. Glad it succeeded. Hopefully they'll stock enough online to sell over time for people that can't afford everything all at once.

I am not familiar with UK obscenity / censorship laws, but my gut instinct as a US attorney is that I can't imagine what in KnJ would be deemed illegal. I'm assuming y'all have some freedom of speech. The very few actually scandalous parts of the manga are buried amidst hundreds and hundreds of pages of story with very clear artistic and literary merit. It isn't like this is a hentai title. If someone were to pick up an omnibus and do a quick flip through, it wouldn't look like porn.

Ah, yes - a list of people who are going to own an awesome manga!
But seriously, unoriginal joke that I've seen a bunch of times regarding this Kickstarter that indicates a profound misunderstanding of the actual content.

Woo, glad they made it. Look forward to picking it up! Very underrated series, wish more people gave it an honest chance.

Misunderstanding? No not really. What is happening is blowing something far far far out of proportion. It is a manga that has elementary schoolers in sexual situations, some of which show a lot of skin. For the record that should make someone uncomfortable and that is the entire point of the series as a whole. It tells a story about kids that for one reason or another are trying to come to terms with themselves and those around them. Is some of it pretty skeevy? Sure it is but the question is what is the point its trying to make and is it a wrong one? In no way are any of the characters overly sexualized or obscene. Vulgar sometimes sure but there is a big step between vulgar and obscene.
Many people just see the age of the characters and the general plot points of the show and scream obscene with a knee jerk. Its happened before and will happen again. If you want to change peoples thoughts on the subject the only way to do that is to actually get them to sit down and look at the whole thing. If people would give the story a chance id bet most of them would enjoy it.

With only 2 days remaining, it was a close call there, but I'm glad that they managed to at least reach the Goal. If I could, I would've pledged as well, but that thing called Reality had other plans...
