I had assumed this wouldn’t get a dub, but I’m glad something more niche like this can get one.

Yeah, same here!!! I didn't think this particular anime title would get a English dub given the 1st series didn't get one, but seeing Kimi Ni Todoke getting a English dub many years later makes me wonder if there's any plan for the 1st series to get a English dub using the same dub cast. That would be kind of cool to see the 1st adaptation to get a English dub many years later.

They're dubbing the wrong Bartender TV series.

Looks like we really are getting more backlog dubs! And one remaking a classic series at that!

The original Bartender anime hasn't received an English dub? That's weird, the original series has recently received a Neutral Spanish dub made by Anime Onegai, it premiered on May, 16 of this year and they're releasing one episode per week and I'd had to say that it has a pretty good voice cast.

We'll wait and see if the 1st series get a English dub later on. I mean we saw Kimi Ni Todoke (anime came out in 2009) getting a dub many years later, and Gunbuster (OVA form 1988) getting a English many years later. So it's possible that if Bartender: Glass of God does well regarding the dub, then it could lead to the 1st series to get an English dub using the same dub cast (I hope).

The main difference is that Kimi no Todoke is a singular, connected series of anime productions that act as proper "Seasons 1 to 3" & are produced by much of the same (if not the same exact group of) production companies, so since Netflix is streaming Season 3 it was decided to dub what came before, too, so that newcomers can enjoy it all together as a unified series.
Bartender, on the other hand, has two completely different anime productions done by different animations studios, staffs, & production companies, with Glass of God essentially being a complete reboot/remake, since it's more accurate to the original manga that the first anime. Therefore, whatever is done with Glass of God has absolutely no relation to the first series from 2006, so don't go expecting the 2006 anime to get dubbed simply because the new one is getting dubbed.
