The way your weapon creates and reshapes the terrain is actually a pretty clever take on this sort of game IMO. I also like its neon city aesthetic, and get an Akudama Drive sort of vibe from the characters.

I'm honestly surprised there hasn't been a big attempted Splatoon rip-off earlier (I thought Ninjala might be that, but it just sort of looks like it and plays differently). It isn't difficult to see the appeal of "Splatoon but not on Nintendo" - although now that the Switch is approaching PS2 levels of sales, I wonder if it's too late.
Of course, like everyone else, I'm fully expecting this to be some kind of battle pass nightmare. I'm prepared to give the game a chance, so...it'll probably have NFTs or something... |

Modern Square-Enix would never release a bikini skin. That'd go against the Ethics Department. Ironically I felt this game was one of the more interesting things from the presentation so I genuinely don't get the hostility from people. At least this has some appealing designs and nice color to it compared to all the other shooters we saw. |

It's hard not to see the similarities between Foamstars and Splatoon, it was the first thing that crossed my mind during the first seconds of the trailer, it also reminds me of other popular "stylized" shooters from the last few years like OverWatch and Fortnite. I can't blame Square-Enix for wanting to make something as popular as Splatoon and Fortnite, which are incredible popular in Japan, but we can't ignore the fact that they're very bad at maintaining on-line games.
