All you folks complaining about no mention of the game-codes: game-code presence in the blu-rays does not explain the change in quality between the two seasons, which is what the article/video is really about, even if the headline chose to highlight sales.

I was hoping for a lot more of that kind of information, also missing from the article is the price of the blue ray compared to other show and maybe some sort of look at whether the sales were all at release or had a tail and maybe some discussion of the view numbers and such.

As it stand the article is more like a review of the show, which is perfectly legitimate article but doesn't really touch on the nitty gritty of why certain work sell better than other, which rarely as much to do with the actual quality of the show.

Even more insulting is that this is another one of those girls series that it needs some goddamn male self-insert for the (male) audience. Japan should stop with this stereotypical "girls can't be great without a guy leading them" BS that started out by Idolmaster. It's one of the things that's bringing down anime.

Oh boy here we go again. To the people who are complaining about people complaining about those bundled gacha codes being the real reason for Uma's "success". Uma Musume made money thanks to the help of ANOTHER IP. In fact, it was flopping back in S1 without them. Uma Musume would be nothing without Granblue Fantasy. It's a sickening despicable strategy popular by Cygames whose games aren't even great. At least the likes of Love Live and Girls und Panzer (two girls series that didn't need a crappy self-insert guy) are successful without leeching on another IPs with their BDs. People like you @cchigu @dm are what bring down anime into mediocrity. You're just fans of a generic (semi-harem) series called Uma Musume that has no soul and substance, making excuses and clinging into its "success" that it didn't earn by itself.

Like here's my shopping cart for used copies from Bookoff's Amazon marketplace store for the 4 singles of the second season of Uma Musume with a grand total of 6,560 yen, which is so ridiculously cheap.
