Neither announcement is surprising to me. Season 3 seemed like a given. One of the endings had animation that was very video game inspired, which kind of got me thinking we might see some sort of Fire Force game.

Oh thank goodness. After the massive cliffhanger S2 left off on, I'm glad to see it continue. Admittedly, I'm not the biggest fan of the anime, but I like it well enough to keep watching.
Hope to see all the sakuga return from previous seasons!

Nothing is ever a given I find. I'm personally still waiting for a final season for Reborn.

Personally, I wasn't counting on a third season, since there was no announcement at the end of the second one, and I thought the odds had gotten even worse after the manga ended earlier this year. Here's hoping David Production is still working on it, and that they won't try to squeeze 130 chapters into two cours.

Based on the amount of chapters the anime adapted during the previous seasons, something tells me that the 3rd season won't be the last.

I wonder if they'll try to conclude the series with this last season (maybe make a it 3-cour?).
And will the game be for consoles or mobile? I'm kind of guessing the latter.

I'm not surprised to hear that Fire Force is getting a 3rd season. I wrote back a few months ago about how I figured that David Production was probably just waiting for the manga to end before they went ahead and got to work on a 3rd season. And seeing as how they've already adapted more than half of the manga already, it definitely looks like Fire Force will be getting a complete adaptation at this point.
And I really do think they can finish the rest of the manga without needing another season. This 3rd season can be the last one, as long as they cut out some of the unnecessary filler from the manga I can see them adapting 130 chapters with only two cours.
