Kingdom and One Piece were the shows I enjoyed the most. They need more love.
Sonny Boy and Higurashi were my biggest dissapointments. The Higurashi was especially so bad, it made my blood boil with all the nonsense shock factor, my god. Easily the worst anime of this year.

I'm glad Iruma-kun is getting more attention. It's quickly turned into one of my favorite series.

It is criminal that Pretty Cure is one of the least watched. Not only is it good, it's important and it inspires and heals people.
I haven't watched any of those worst rated, but if they are as bad as people say then PreCure deserves a lot more attention than they got.

I second Kageki Shoujo and Kiyo in Kyoto, though Kiyo is better if you're interested in food and cooking. Both shows present women in traditional roles. As the title says, Kiyo takes place in a maiko house where women dress in traditional costume and meet with male admirers. At one point the story rather explicitly says the men come to see these women after work to escape having to go home to their wives and children. (Kiyo is an NHK production, by the way.)
Kageki Shoujo follows girls who are trying to join the famous Takarazuka Revue, an all-female theatrical troupe that dates back over a century.
Quote: | Before becoming a member of the troupe, a young woman must train for two years in the Takarazuka Music School, one of the most competitive of its kind in the world. Each year, thousands from all over Japan audition. The 40 to 50 who are accepted are trained in music, dance, and acting, and are given seven-year contracts. The school is famous for its strict discipline and its custom of having first-year students clean the premises each morning. |

Why did people abandon Girlfriend, Girlfriend? That was a solid show with some good laughs.

I really love how Higurashi Sotsu wasn't in the best, worst, dropped, lowest-rated, or under-appreciated gem lists(i.e. any lists), thus solidifying just how mediocre a season it was.

Despite the dwindling viewership of Idolish7 (probably only going to be lower with season 3 part 2) I'm glad the series is doing well score wise becuase I find it amazing

I'd wager the same reason any of the most abandoned shows that aren't in the worst rated anime were. Gave it a try, wasn't for them, moved on. This happened to Jahy, Tokyo Revengers, Black Company and Vanitas too. Two of those are in the most popular's list

Not surprised by the least watched list since those are all extremely niche series (or maybe just bad in d_cide's case). Excluding Kiyo in Kyoto I'm not surprised by the gems list either since i know those shows have a devoted following

A lot of people didn't find it funny. |
Mostly (based on published reviews and associated comments) those people who were hoping for a serious look at polyamory and instead found parody were the disappointed ones who dropped the show.
Those of us who have watched many (too many?) rom-com shows will recognize all the worn out standard tropes being sent up, which is hilarious to some (that some likely being the same people who enjoyed Aho-Girl that has the same manga author).

Do you think you will do more of these weekly rankings for future seasons?

Overjoyed that Iruma-kun is getting more attention now. S3 could not come any sooner
Kingdom being in the least watched shows list had me breaking inside but at the very least its also listed as a hidden gem so it has that to be proud of if nothing else...

I just found it one of the most cringe inducing anime I watched. Not that it's bad per se, but damn was it cringe...
