I wonder if 10 billion yen is in play? It just might happen.
More importantly, we really need an announcement for a North America theatrical run ASAP!

Not a chance in hell. The only reason it was the fastest to hit ¥3 billion was because it opened prior to the On Festival week. It'll really slow down now. It won't even hit Film X's numbers.
It might get to ¥5 billion. Unlikely to get to ¥6 billion.

Based on what? Do you have insider info? I doubt it. From what I've heard, the movie has strong word-of-mouth. Obon Festival is only one of many factors.
What if it reaches 6 billion yen or 7 billion yen or even 10 billion yen? Are you going to move the goal post?

Based on the long-standing history of box office finance including the previous One Piece or even Dragon Ball movies and their holiday performance compared to the total performance. It's impossible for this to make ¥10 billion, it made too little over Obon Festival for that to ever be a conceivable possiblity, that's just not how box office works. Its not gonna triple it's opening holiday week, nothing does.
This will not outgross Film Z, no chance at all, It may and only may pass Film Gold. It has a good shot at ¥5 billion and that is about it.

Why are you too focused on one piece aren't you a big dbz fan, and you dont even read One Piece.
There is a big chance that it might reach 6 billion with the events planned after obon holiday. It did amazing so far, and you're downplaying its performance, and comparing it to dbz when it has nothing to do with it. DBZ movies were never as big and consistent compared to how one piece movies did in Japan.

The problem with that conclusion is that it's a fallacy that doesn't take into account that the tastes and moviegoing patterns of moviegoers are always changing. Those performances are used for predictions and predictions can always end up wrong.
Strong World came out ten years ago in December, Film Z seven years ago in December, and Film Gold three years ago in July.
Stampede could see a big drop or a small drop next week. The only competition for it coming up is Ni no Kuni. We'll have to see what happens.

It already dropped 44% this weekend which is bad but normal for OP, Tenki no Ko and the lion king became the Top 2 and One piece dropped to 3rd, what Bullza is talking about is true anyone with decent knowledge about Japanese box office know that 5.5 billion is the max it can get and while 3 billion in 9 days is big Conan is still outpacing it and it didn't have a holiday until its 3rd weekend and that didn't reach 10billion
