I'm now wondering if the fact that the Girls' Last Tour manga just ended might have put a bit of a damper on otaku enthusiasm for the anime version?

I wonder how well the standard editions of love live sunshine sell. Those are the ones that I buy so I'm curious.

There are no standard editions...love live only sells their anime by blu-ray.

There is a standard edition and it is a bluray. I own seven volumes of the first season and two of the second. They don't come with any extras like the limited editions.

Wow, was the Mahouka movie a compilation film? Cause those sales are not good for a series that averaged 12.5k in singles and added another 5k with a BD box release, unless it has a really solid 2nd and 3rd week.

Seems girls last tour wasn't as big a hit over there like it was here.

No it wasn’t a compilation film. Among other things, the animation was not at the level one would expect from an anime film.

Hopefully that BD box set for Big Windup! makes them consider continuing the adaptation. I need the best sports series animated again.

"Princess Principal" should have sold better.

I doubt the manga ending has much to do with the disc sales. Japanese otaku have never been fond of thinking anime. I am actually surprised that GLT was not a complete flop.

These are actually pretty strong sales. I never would've imagined it doing better than this, at least. It's now a successful little single season anime that made all of the investors happy, undoubtedly.

Agreed! I bought myself a copy. It was nice to see all the actors in the recent Pash Plus interview talking about how they hope there will be more anime and they'd love to be in it. (Well, all 3 interviewed except Tajima's actor who was even clueless about the stage play, lol.) I know the stage play has sold well too, one of my friends who is attending had a really hard time getting tickets because the lotteries kept selling out. It makes me hopeful! Although I won't get my hopes up too high. But still.
