I'm honestly not sure if I should be speechless, puzzled or laughing at this.
Now I need to watch more batsu games...

This is like the old "buy a star" advertisement.
The thing is, this can't be fully legal since the other party isn't consenting, sentient person, who is agreeing to the marriage. Not to mention these anime characters surely has thousands of others marrying him/her, which makes that polygamy.
Though personally, it would be funny to hear the reactions from the character creators.

So if you decide to get a life and marry a real woman, can you be charged with bigamy?

Somehow I don't think that will be much of an issue.

But will there be any tax implications of such unions? After all, the institution of marriage is often sought after for primarily financial reasons, alas.

So if a foreigner does this, he's eligible for permanent residency after 3 years instead of 10?

I seriously wonder how the actor was feeling throughout this entire filming process.

With working hours getting longer and longer, a salaryman's got to have someone to depend on for mental stability...even if that someone is fictional.
