Actually, I couldn't care less. The stars in Pacific Rim aren't the actors but the mechas. He is easily replaceable.

But this isn't a Japanese movie. It's totally American. It's not like GITS or Power Rangers adaptions.

Yeah, it's pretty unimportant. Can easily go with a new lead character for the movie. Did an ok job, but was hardly the core of the movie. That goes to the mechs and the monsters. Since both are CGI...doesn't matter if we have a new human main character.

Meh. It's not like he was the reason I liked the movie. Couldn't care less who pilots. I want mecha and kaiju.

I remember his performance being somewhat...hoacky, so maybe having the wonderful John Boyega instead is an actual improvement...

As long as they have more cool side characters I'm down. Like those Russian and Chinese pilots, they were actually more interesting than the main duo. I don't remember what happened to them actually, gotta rewatch now.

Idris Elba was least replaceable, but that's right. No one cares about the humans.

Pretty sure they all died. Every pilot died except for the mains (and the daddy's boy since he didn't pilot).
