So I wonder if she's actually been receiving threats since the "scandal" or they're just taking precautions because of it...?
Either way it's disgusting. I mean, I'm glad they're taking precautions but the fact that they have to all because she maybe might have done porn a long time ago basically summarizes everything I hate about the idol industry. I love Emi Nitta's singing, so I just wish there was a way to support her without supporting all the shit that comes with being an idol. |

Just being a respectful fan helps - I've enjoyed attending live shows in Japan where the audience not only participate by the light-stick actions (aka wotagei / ヲタ芸) and the audience response parts of songs but also by being quiet for the quiet parts. It's sad that this sort of thing has to happen but I also understand why this sort of thing is done as some people have a problem differentiating between rumor and fact. Yet this could just be simple safety precautions and not have anything to do with the whole tabloid mess.

I understand that the agency has to exercise any means they feel is necessary to protect their singers/ actors and themselves, but it's never good that people have to subject themselves to pat-down searches. Then again, this is the star of Love Live we're looking at here, so perhap's Emi Nitta's beautiful singing will be worth it...

I read that weeks ago. That talent agency is a piece of dogcrap, it's discrimination and corporate tyranny, Walkure should've took this "scandal" and took a stand against the BS in the industry. The Love Livers are terrible, they still won't forgive Nitta even after the agency says the pictures are false everyone seems to know the pics are from a doppelganger except them. |

majority of these voice actresses and idols start at the bottom. What do people expect? She's a pretty girl too, I mean c'mon. Japanese fans are just idiots?

feels like this is the kind of news reporting that perpetuate baseless rumors. it's already on the record that emitsun wasn't in the video in question. furthermore, compared to the average event security theater for japanese seiyuu shows, this is not that much more extreme. the patdown is the only unusual thing, and the article does nothing to highlight it so people would know. the other possible unusual thing is prohibiting sprays and the like, but people typically don't bring those except to outdoor events so it's not that important. ID checks is also something that happens on a regular basis, especially for small events (like this kind of thing).
i've attended some seiyuu events where bag checks were not mandatory, but that's more the exception than the norm. |

A company protecting its brand image doesn't seem like corporate tyranny to me. Whether it's a school teacher, children's entertainer, video game company employee, or idol seiyuu, if a company doesn't want to associate with adult stars it seems within their rights to do so if they feel it would damage their company's image from public backlash. |

I think bag checks have been part of the rules for every event I've been to, but in nine times out if ten it actually consists of the security person just giving a quick glance into the bag so that they technically uphold the rule, but if the person in question really wanted to bring something illegal, they could simply keep it underneath a towel or something. The only event I can think of with both serious bag checks and pat downs is the Emperor's New Year speech. |

Because their managers aren't doing their obligated duty, it does not take much to just say knock it off, it's going too far and their behavior disrupting public order at the least and a crime at the most when it comes to the threats. |

I've also seen in the hand-outs that they give at concerts advertisements for prospective idols/seiyuu where the requirements for no alcohol and other things were spelled out at the start - it can help avoid situations later on to do so and requirements such as no alcohol were not much different from what I've seen on anti-deliquency posters. |
