Didn't know he had an anime connection. RIP, Mr. Emerson.

I've noted a surprisingly high number of mentions of the Genma Taisen film from Japanese Twitter users.

One of the absolute worst anime films... but it did have a great soundtrack.
The guy was a legend. Truly one of the forefathers of the prog-rock style.

Honestly had no idea he performed a song for an anime film...
May Mr. Emerson rest in peace. He was truly a Rock legend.

Man, this has not been a good year for influential musical figures. Rest in peace.

Oh no! I loved ELP - one of the few good things I learned about through my ex (he had general good music tasted - too bad he was a total waste on most other things ). I'm sorry to hear Keith Emerson's gone

I'll super second you on that comment Top Gun:
Edgar Froese of Tangerine Dream was really the most devastating for me. I've yet to find a band or artist with more releases than TDream.
Chris Squire of Yes was a very big deal.
Lemmy from Motorhead and their former drummer Filthy Animal wasn't good news to hear either.
Saga just lost their promoter for the last 10 years in Michael Durshmit. (Not a musician, but played a big part in one of my favorite bands ever).
David Bowie A big loss to so many.
2015 was painful. And 2016 isn't starting out that well either thus far.
I never knew Keith Emerson did any anime soundtrack material, but I'll be investigating my collection for Harmagedon as I think I own that one. I read he was booked for shows in Japan for this year and developed something permanent in one of his hands that caused him to go into a massive depressive state. I can understand that aspect, but wish he would not have went so deep that he had to take his life.
R.I.P. to all of the above.... Edgar Froese of Tangerine Dream once said: "There is no death, there is just a change of our cosmic address.' " The reply from the band was..."Edgar, this is a little comfort to us"
