It's over. Now we can forget Konami on focus on the future that is Kojima.

I can't believe that they pretended he was on 'vacation' for so long. Everyone knew! We aren't stupid, Konami!

With Mr. Kojima-san out of Konami's dreadful domain, it's only a matter of time before Kojima Productions is back in business. I look forward to new titles that will be coming from them in the future.

Wish the best for Kojima. Konami has become a cartoony villain during this whole endeavor. Hate that they own so many IPs and doing nothing for them.

I imagine that the principals at Konami know this, but they made fools of themselves by their actions and - well - lost face. Badly.
Let's see what happens now that Kojima-san is free and clear to start putting things back together.

Maybe now, "Silent Hills" and MGS can get a spiritual successor with the help of crowdfunding, and he'll overhype the games for two years by having a second crowdfunding campaign for voice actors and then announce an animated series and a movie before the game is even out.

Frankly it's not just Konami, I've become soured on a lot of Japanese business practices of late. Right now the only ones that are really in my good books are Nintendo and maybe Square Enix who have risen like a phoenix in the wake of Wada's resignation.

It's their business practice, why do you care?

I'm really curious to know what the hell went on that would create such a bitter parting with Kojima. And mind you the fans are pissed. As someone that doesn't play the games but have enjoyed watching play-throughs from friends and YT'bers I'm really saddened that thing ended this way.

I haven't really paid much attention to the situation, but Kojima seems pretty committed to console gaming, and from what people keep saying in the comments section of articles like these, Konami's looking to focus all their efforts on the mobile gaming and pachinko machine markets. It's not difficult to imagine some arguments bad enough to result in a falling out on that basis alone.

It is just so strange, that Konami thought it was okay to lie to the fans, knowing full well that everyone already figured it out. Then banning him from attending his own awards ceremony. Too bad we don't have camera's in their boardroom to see how they decided on this insanity. Be nice to see how they handle the fallout too.

Tars: They didn't technically lie. They just didn't declare anything as official. And they had a reason to do so, because their stock would take a nosedive, if they let him go right away.
